Right? I think it borders on "hoarding" and "usefulness". But, the item that is deemed "useless" always finds its way to being "useful" in the future. Hopefully I don't end on TLC "My obsession with hoarding truck mods"

Out in my shed I have at least 1/2 dozen old scissor jacks, a circa 60's bumper jack, spare wheel from a 1993 Buick Roadmaster, and a Sears timing light I haven't used in probably 30 years.....but I might just need them sometime in the future.
One must always be prepared !

Probably in the Twilight Zone Box of "Stuff I bought but never used and now I gotta find it",
3rd shelf up, two boxes over, behind the 10 year old Halloween decorations !!!
God forbid they're in his sticker box he'll never find them! He'd be better off buying new ones. ?

And, how many of us have the bin or old garbage can full of odd ball lengths of wood, assorted types, ply, 2 x 4 and up, dowels, pvc and pex pipe, angle supports, and assorted left over project items that we will "always find a use for".
Containers of old screws, nails, nuts, bolts, stupid short pieces of wire, and yet for every new project we go and buy new "stuff"

I had all that living back east but gave it all away when I moved out here. One thing I kept are all the coffee cans I have filled with assorted nut, bolts, screws and washers. I think everyone has several of those.

I have a terrible disease I got from my dad. He would buy stuff because he thought he needed it to do 1 task, and he would use it for that and then never use it again. Me, on the other hand, buy stuff because I THINK I might use it, then it sits unused because I don't want to muck it up. I'm dumb.

This thread has over 9,600 posts and 1.1 MILLION views? Wooda thunk?
That's impressive! Who doesn't like a bit of inspiration I guess. You folks got some good stuff too. We could probably also look into renaming this thread to something like "check in here for things to spend money on" or "things you never knew you needed".
