Has anyone swapped late model F150 wheels onto one of our Rangers?

I really like the style of many of the new 20" wheels on the F150 and think that they would look good on a Ranger. The six lug pattern on the F150 is slightly smaller than the Ranger so I know I will need an adapter and possibly different studs and lugs on the Ranger hubs.

I can find take off wheels from an F150 in my area at really great prices and the Ford Logo centercaps would look really nice. Also, the F150 wheels should be high quality. May even score TPMS sensors in the deal.

Any thoughts or suggestions? I may contact BORA just to hear what they have to say.

Can't, they have a different bolt pattern.

Apologies, I missed that detail of an adapter, lol.

Just got off the phone with a nice and helpful gentleman from BORA. He said that they will make me a custom set of aluminum adapters - 139.7mm Ranger hub to 135mm F150 hub - for $278 shipped to my door. Lead time is 3 to 4 weeks. I feel like this is a decent deal considering how much less I would pay for take off wheels than the aftermarket wheels I like.

The adapter will only be 1" thick, sorry I should have included that earlier. An OEM F150 wheel shouldn't be too crazy with offset and an inch wider will put the wheels right where I want them. I like for the wheel and tire to be even with the top outside edge of the fender, nothing crazy. So, an inch wider on each side should look just right. Once I have found a set I like I will check the offset and do some figuring.

The guy with BORA said that I may have to shorten the studs if the hub side of the wheel is flush but, that many OEM cast wheels have openings in the back between the stud/lug holes that the Ranger studs may fit into.

Picked up a set of F150 wheels a couple weeks ago. The price was great and the set came with tires and TPMS sensors. The tires are too tall and too worn but hopefully the sensors work out.

A few days ago my BORA wheel adapters came in. The quality looks great and a quick test fit looks like they are designed perfectly for the hub-centric wheels.

I will be installing the Belltech lowering kit in a couple weeks and will save up some money to get new tires mounted on the F150 wheels.

Looking forward to seeing your results! I was wondering about F150 wheels this moring as I was looking for some Ranger Magnetic take offs.

That is the point of this post. F150's are a dime a dozen and many have aftermarket wheels. A quick trip to Facebook or Craigslist will show me F150 takeoff wheels close to my home all day long. Not to mention the price and build quality out perform most custom wheels.

I will definitely keep updating this thread with details and pictures as I go.

Tried out the new adapters and wheels today. Had some serious rubbing issues!
This was just a trial run before I swap the tires and install the lowering kit. Wanted to see if the TPMS sensors would work correctly and check fitment of the adapters. The sensors worked fine so that is a win.
The Bora adapters worked perfectly! I used my stock lug nuts to hold the adapter in place and the supplied open style lug nuts to hold the wheels. I will order a set of F150 lugs when I decide whether I want to powder coat the wheels, may go with black.
As you can see in the pics the offset is kinda wide but I think it will be better with a narrower tire. The stock F150 tires are 275/55/20. I plan to go with 265/50/20. I am thinking that the shorter, narrower tire will not have rubbing issues especially when I lower the front and get the tires up into the wheel well opening and away from the crash bars. The F150 tires are approximately 31.5" tall and the Ranger tires are closer to 30"
So this shows that it can be done and I think this would be a cool setup for a 4wd truck looking to get a wider stance.
I will update when I get my lowering kit installed and smaller tires on the rims.

I don't know if I'd powder coat them at all.

The existing gunmetal looks great

i really like the idea, as there is a ton of other options out there for F150 wheels.

I suspected you would have offset issues and it wouldnt be a plug and play type install.

the maths though....thats where i get confused . figuring out the offset with spacers would make me cry inside.
Yeah I know. Trying to get accurate info on the offset of the stock F150 wheels you are looking at would be a pain!
Just assuming here but, I would think that all of the F150 wheels have the same offset. Otherwise, there would be stock F150 with all sorts of track width and weird alignment issues. I mainly wanted to show what a relatively popular F150 wheel would look like on a 1" adapter. The 4wd crowd could definitely use this setup. With a 2" level I could run this size tire all day.

I like the gray of the wheels but I feel like there are too many shades of gray on the truck now. The skid plate, bumpers & flares, and wheels are all three different shades of gray. I may go with a powder coating that is the same as the Sport package bumpers. I think they call it Magnetic Gray?

Once I get the lowering kit and tires I will have a better idea. Only problem is that the best time to powder coat would be between tires so I need to make a decision sooner than later.

the outside of the tires sit right where i would like them to
I like where the outside of the wheel sits. I think a narrower tire will be just right!
