The adhesive on the rubber piping on my Bushwacker Fender Flares was failing in a couple of places on two of my flares so I removed the flares - lots of mud in the flares where the seals failed. I cleaned everything up and will likely beg and plead with Bushwacker for some new piping. I’ll let you know how that goes.

In the meantime, I’m kinda diggin’ the sleeker look and the poke my +15mm offset and 275s are creating. Part of me misses the aggressive bolt-on style flares but part of me is sayin, whoa! nice stance Bro’. I’m torn between putting them back and leaving them off, buffing out the abrasion marks left from the flares and hoping it doesn’t look too Bro’-ish.

I can already tell the ride is much better. I opted for the kit that is front lift and rear shocks only, so it will be lifted to 39" in the front (RF was at 36 1/8", LF was at 36", both rears are at 39"). I can add the blocks later, if I decide I need more lift in the rear, though, I am more of a functional parts guy, so I would do a set of springs and/or shackles. to get a bit more height out of the rear. Springs, more than likely, to accommodate the additional weight coming and provide a better ride.

I did take the sway bar off last night too. When I tried to attach the sway bar end links, the sway bar itself was contacting the lower control arms. I'd need shorted end links. Today, the truck did not feel like it was out of control, so I may just leave it off. I can always adjust and reinstall it later.

Back to the ride; bumps that made my teeth rattle and rearranged my kidneys with the FX4 suspension (only the fronts at this time) were smooth and subtle. Much, much smoother ride. I am stoked and can't wait to get the rears installed (once available from Stage 3. I have already ordered them, just waiting for them to arrive at S3 and ship.).
I haven't even ridden in a stock fx4 but from what I've read it is a vast improvement. Even the dealer said it was a big improvement over stock.

Decided to have my 1st oil change done at a local Ford Dealer. The "Oil Change Required" notification came on several weeks before I had the change done at 4231 miles. Got "The Works Package" which includes Oil & Filter change, tire rotation, and inspection. They installed the Gorilla locks (no charge) and torqued them to spec's. Also got a sample of oil when the drain was 1/2 done to send to Blackstone for analysis. I assume they put in exactly 6.2 quarts because the oil level was on the line at the top of the cross hatch. This dealer recommends 5000 oil change intervals which has been my standard practice.

Discount Tire installed Toyo Open Country AT/III 265/70R18 tires on my Ranger today. With the help of Msfitoy and bfastr I was able to remove my crash bars without cutting them and replace them with the Ready Lift Anti-Intrusion bars before getting the tires. Matt with Discount Tire (here on the sponsor page) answered my questions around tire fitment before I ordered them.

I’m really pleased with the looks and the ride of the truck with the larger tires.

I think your setup looks good without the flares. Imo, you'd get the best look with flares by pushing the offset out to zero. I have RTR flares with +1 offset and 295's to get a flush look, which I personally really like.

Honestly I think your truck looks better without them. Just one man's opinion, and you gotta go with what you like ;)
