It could be the 2021's, but I was pretty sure it was the Tremor package that caused it not to be included.

Only 2019 & 2020 Lariats came with the engine cover. For 2021 it was dropped from the Lariats. If you want one you can get the cover and attaching parts here:

Maybe Ford figured, "why give it to em for free when we can make a poop load of $$$ selling em aftermarket"

Thanks for the clarification. FWIW, I wouldn't put an engine cover on. It will make the engine compartment look slightly better, but will also affect heat dissipation. Not a lot, but some.

Is there any real benefit to an engine cover other than making it a bit quieter and looking better? I've thought about getting one for mine but certainly low on the priority list at this point.

Nope. That is all it does. As I mentioned before, it will hold some of the engine heat as well.
