Was gonna post a Seinfeld Newman clip but that shit is so damn funny I couldn't decide which one.
One of the best ones is where Newman and Kramer take the mail truck to Michigan to return bottles. lol

There is a very good reason the USPS is in the shape it is in.

I ordered some T-shirts from Carhartt. They were shipped from Hanson, KY the 18th. From there the package went to Evanston, IN, to Las Vegas, NV, to Irving, TX, to Ft. Worth, TX as of today. The USPS now says it will be delivered on July 1st! Good Lord, this package has traveled more in the last few days, than I have in the last few years!

No wonder to me they're broke!
Not really. The legislative requirement to fund the retirement funds up front. It's a disaster for the USPS. On top of that, no one sends letters any more, we do all stuff online, and that hurts the USPS's bottom line. We're all responsible, like it or not.

I pay all my bills with a check and a stamp. Not my fault.

I know. You're in the minority, and you're doing your part to keep the USPS afloat :)

Added: I often read people bitchin about the USPS, not understanding they are causing it.

I bet I write 2-3 checks a year at most. I just use my online bill pay for all my household and business bills. Most times if I have to pay someone for services I use Zelle and most of my customers pay me that way too. I love it as you get your money instantly.

Me too. I have a check book and the last one I wrote until recently was years ago. It just proves the point that we shouldn't be complaining about the USPS going under, we're all at fault. They need to reinvent themselves, but Dejoy was a huge mistake, That's a post for another forum.

I'm old school. I write probably 10-15 per month.

Cash, check, debit, or credit. Those are the only payment methods I use.

We've got a couple of routes at work where the residents don't tip. They're newer houses full of YOUNG families with money but they never tip their drivers at Christmas time. I've told guys to include a Venmo account on their Christmas cards as these folks have no cash or checks. Nobody has tried it yet, that I know.

I never carry cash. I hate going to the local hardware store and paying them with a card for 2 dollars, but I just don't have cash. I have been known to go out at Christmas and tip the garbage men, though not every year.

It took me a long time to change (I hate change!) but once I did I was glad as it's so much more convenient. Once I get a bill I just go to my online bill pay and set it up for the amount and date and done. You can have them reoccurring but I like to keep track and manually do it every month. I don't use a debit card but use my credit card for just about everything to get the points then pay it off every month. I do try to always tip in cash because then they don't have to claim it and it's a nice extra for them.

Amazon an UPS started hiring people to work out of their own cars. We used to do walking an apartments out of our cars in the past but too many parcels now. It was nice having air conditioning.

The union pretty much sold out on most stuff. They fight to keep pay an benefits where they are but they don't gain anything. I think most of them have been at it too long an figure they'll let stuff slide, get along with management, not make any waves an keep their cushy well paying jobs.

See, I'd bet if they had Venmo or Zelle info on their card you'd tip them more often, right?
I'm gonna have to push hard to get somebody to try it this upcoming Christmas.

I'll switch one day.

Part of my issue is that I still think I'm 20 years old and the car payment might come through when there is $.52 in the checking account.

If I ever do it I'll have to the single shot stuff over recurring to alleviate that anxiety.

I'll grab cash for both of us once every week or two. Keeps me from having too many receipts from the debit cards to keep track of. All grocery shopping and big purchases are on the credit cards for fuel points (wife's); Ford Points (mine); or cash (both of us). Can't bring myself to putting all daily spending on the credit cards just yet. It feels wrong.

Something weird happened to us on the way home from Flagstaff yesterday. I was watching the fuel gauge to gauge when I might stop to fill the tank of the RV as we store it with a full tank of diesel. Got to Eloy and a Loves truck stop... Now fueling a 40 ft motor home can be problematic. I usually mix it up with the Trucks, but if the car fuel islands present an opportunity to pay at the pump..Margie hates going into the fuel desk on the truck side. So the outside car island was open and I seized the opportunity to use the car side...Also cheaper fuel cost... So I swung the coach and Ranger into the islands...Being 60 ft long I knew I was going to block some car traffic to squeeze behind the Ranger. There was a car in the first island with a Uhaul Trailer attached. The guy came out and climbed into his car and took off...so I pulled up to block the entire outside Island (Loves understands this).

So I open the door and round the front of the RV to the pumps... I pull out my credit card and slap it up against the chip reader. Screen went blank on the pump but then indicated to select fuel and start pumping. So I did and fuel started to dispense into the tank. I knew Loves shut off at $125 so grabbed the truck squeegee to clean the bugs off the 4 ft tall by 5 ft wide drivers side windshield and ditto for the passenger side. (Car pumps are extremely slow when I need almost 100 gallons). So I heard a click for pump shut off.? WTF? went back to the the Nozzle and the pump indicated it shut off at $30. ??? So pulled out the credit card and started the pump again. Got a printed receipt for the $30. Took on about $225 gallons after starting the pump again... What was the $30 deal. So Margie told me....Looks like the guy at the pump went into the station and put $30 on the pump..came out and got in his car and drove off. So I got about 8.6 gallons of diesel free!
