Do you think that’s because of the super cab, assuming your profile pic is your truck. I heard Ford is pushing supercrews out first.

It is a supercab, but I just inspected one at a nearby dealer two days ago. Also Ford marketing swears it ain't so,
but it SURE looks like it! Besides that wouldn't be fair...right?
OH! and what about the ROVP promise??

According to my dealer:
"See your attached for your new VIN xxxxx24870 I'll be sending a new up date as of the day of start up which is March 18."
expectation is low so i will be happy if it gets built but not disappointed if nothing happens next week. Not being disappointed doesnt mean I won't get a wild hair and cancel since I *still* need to get it shipped it to Hawaii.

Did you do all the paperwork, like drivers license? (My dealer contacted me like a month after my order to tell me that Ford wouldn't process until they did the stuff they should have done at the beginning.) If you haven't gotten a VIN yet it sounds more like there was an issue with the dealer getting the order in properly than a holdup on the production side.

I have the ROVP paperwork with tracking number, order number, and Order Verification Status (APPROVED) in front of me as I type this.
UPDATE... I called Marketing this morning (a weekly ritual). To my surprise I was informed that a VIN has been issued and a build date determined. Subsequently, I went to my dealer and got my VIN and a build date of the week of 4/29.
I am relieved but not excited since that will make it 15 weeks after full production to get built and likely two more weeks before delivery. I'm now realistically looking at mid to late MAY for delivery. So now I'm HALFWAY to possession.
Normally shut down for model year change would come some time in June, but with the Ranger it may be July or August??
It looks like I will receive my truck at the last possible moment before cancellation, I'm glad at least for that.
At least I can now conform to the title of this thread "I'VE GOT A VIN"

My dealer has told me twice now that I have a build date in the first week of April but that I do not have a VIN. Is that normal? It seems that everyone else gets a VIN when they get a build date.

It's a long read but this thread https://www.ranger5g.com/forum/thre...-date-and-build-date-by-ranger5g-member.1286/ is basically a chronicle of info on how to track the progress and what you should expect. Things seem to have smoothed out since they started production late last year but it's a good place to start. If the dealer has a build date they almost certainly have a VIN, particularly if it's scheduled for three weeks out. For me, this site has helped in that it helps me stay one step ahead and throw around some "inside lingo" which helps keep the dealer professional. YMMV.
