Could be the combination I guess. Plenty of 4x4 Supercrews got scheduled based on the messages here. One guy ordered on 1/19 and had his vin and build scheduled on 1/20 for 3/7 build. So who knows.

I'm guessing the Supercrews get priority because of profit margin, but hey, I've been wrong before.... I think.

My salesman called to say he received an email from Ford with the vin number for my truck at 10:34 CST. I have not received anything from Ford about the order acceptance or scheduled for production, but he checks the orders every morning and calls the customer with any changes. He checked at 7:50 this morning while I was waiting for the oil to be changed in my wife's car and it was still in order received unscheduled status, but a couple hours later and it was changed to scheduled.

Now to find where I put that accessory, aka break out the credit card, catalog.

Buying a truck has become a quest and only the strong survive the journey.

Don't be sure of delivery until it is sitting in your driveway.

I ordered a S/Cab on 4/26/21
Sales Rep gave me build date of early Aug 22 in mid Jul 21.
I believe my truck would ship within 10 days or so and would arrive no later than end of Aug 21.
Around Aug 20 I got the VIN build date of Aug of Aug 9 21. Woohoo, truck is on the way I thought.
I foolishly sold my 2002 Ranger to a good guy who needed one for his son in late Aug 21.
By September and no truck, sales guy began making inquiries and finally learned truck was waiting chips.
Sep-Dec I got repeated projections on Delivery Date updated on the Ford Delivery site and the date kept slipping out further.
The Ford Delivery site was always slow to update dates and events.
Early Jan 22 Ford Delivery site showed a build date but never changed delivery date from Dec 21.
Truck showed up on lot on Jan 9 and I got delivery on Jan 11.

Delivery on a Ranger is much like when we were planning the two kids. I'd put the order in and wait to see and finally got indication the order was accepted. Constant attention to delivery process including midnight search for strange craved things like anchovi pizza or chocolate cake. Drs said when the kid would be delivered, and one came 21 days later while other arrived week early.

In the end delivery on the kids and the Ranger left me smiling and all the prior events did not much matter.

The truck arrived, lots of new buttons and such to figure out and live is good. Just be patient and have a pizza instead.

My sales person said it is a commodities thing (tonneaus, spray in bed liner) and a recall thing (Headrests or safety latches, he wasn't sure). Either way I feel like I have seen Supercabs with build dates for March and April on the other forum. My order from 2/18 shows as 'clean' (at least it did 2 weeks ago) which I was told meant there were no commodity holds on it and it could be scheduled. So we will just see what happens this week. I haven't seen anyone say yet they got a VIN or a 'scheduled for production' email yet from Ford for the weeks of 5/2, 5/9 or 5/16.
