Hi Carl,In case anyone is in the market for a new Ranger you are probably out of luck. I just picked up my new 2021, and the owner stopped by and told me I got the last discount they were offering off MSRP, but we had agreed to the deal a few weeks ago. They had a total of 6 trucks on the lot there were not sold, and they are doing $1000 over MSRP on them. He also said as soon as the current rebates expire there will not be anymore factory cash, just financing offers.
Ford is manufacturing trucks except for the chip modules, and they hope they can just finish them and ship out. But it is looking like July before stock starts coming in.
If any one cares, I paid out the door 33,641, that includes NC 3% sales tax, and tag, before all that, price was $32,500. MSRP on this model was $37,700.
I don't know why he would lie about it, just sharing what he passed along. He also said the auto makers are not at the front of the line as the chips come out of the factory. The large electronics firms, Apple, Samsung, Sony, etc due to volume are 1st priority. He said if you go to Ford site and search you will see lots of vehicles available at the dealers, but those have not been shipped, but have left the factory and show as available. I found this to be the case as I searched for a replacement. None could even tell me when they would be delivered.cutting production, cancelling shifts, shuttering plants.....thats how they are reacting
i cant find any articles of anyone building and parking

Sounds like a ploy just to get you in the dealership.I drove past the local Nissan dealer today and they have huge signs up saying they will beat ANY appraisal on any used car.
Perhaps. When I had my outback on craigslist I posted that my asking price was firm, else I was selling to carvana. I had a few dealers contact me and said they would give me more than Carvana and come pick it up. I decided to just do carvana and be done with it, but maybe I shouldn't have?Sounds like a ploy just to get you in the dealership.
All the dealers say $4,000 above KBB trade-in value (which value, poor)? LOL
This is where having access to Ford X-Plan pricing or knowing someone who does and is willing to let you use it comes in handy. The participating dealers not only have to show you the invoice paperwork on the truck, but that's what you pay. In some cases could save 5-10K off sticker depending on the add-ons and incentives. Sticker on my Ranger was 39.9K and they sold it to me for 31.8K with 2500 worth of incentives and 0% interest. Worth looking into to see if you know anyone who has it from their work.yeah I’m looking around, but everywhere I’ve looked is basically sticker out the door. That ain’t happening. Market value won’t carry these used trucks forever and I hate over paying.
They are in car sales. They spread more BS than farmers.I don't know why he would lie about it
Pretty sure that Xplan is not transferable to another person. This is where having access to Ford X-Plan pricing or knowing someone who does and is willing to let you use it comes in handy. My wife has it from her work and all she did was initiate PIN and put my email information in. Ford then emailed me all the information needed to sign in to their site to see X Plan pricing. Then All I had to do was print out the original email I received and take it with me to the dealership. They never asked about her or how I got access to X Plan pricing.Pretty sure that Xplan is not transferable to another person.
And it's not invoice, it's invoice plus a set small percentage.
And anybody can get X plan, just join the Mustang Club of America.
Probably not the case in this market but dealership beat X-plan with incentives for me in December.
Phil, maybe they are talking about something like this?Hi Carl,
First I have not heard of a build and park...will try to find someone to verify...I doubt this is the case, but being on the outside now...it maybe have been the decision... Things get crazy with build and park as the realestate gets VERY crowded with Rangers.

Pretty much the same here. My dealer was offering invoice minus all rebates. He even printed out a bunch of them across the area that included all pricing info, like Hold Back, A & Z Plan, D Plan, X Plan, etc... Invoice is ~$100 better than X-Plan, but A&Z is about $1,600 lower than invoice.I just ordered my Ranger from the Ford dealer here in town. Their starting price was invoice, and though they wouldn't come off it, with the incentives it came in well under sticker. Oddly, I called some Ford dealerships in Indy and they were starting at MSRP and not coming off. Don't know if the market's just softer here than in the "big city," but either way, I figure getting invoice - $2250 in incentives + tax is probably a pretty good deal at the moment, and one that might not last even here in my one-horse town much longer.
