I traded in my 2019 Ranger XLT Sport 4x4 in on a Tremor! I had a Carvana offer for $31k (25k miles) which is what I paid new after rebates, so I headed to my local Ford dealer and left with a tremor! They ended up giving me 30k for the trade in and took the price of the XLT Tremor down to $39k.

Wow! Very nice! Do I get some sort of thread starting fee for this? Just a little cut of the pie? Haha just kidding. That’s awesome. Thinking about doing something similar myself but then I think about the money I’ve spent on mods, switching back over stock parts.. all that non sense. Meh too lazy

I'm going to be most likely selling my focus to carvana in a few weeks here as I'm supposed to take delivery of my ranger may 8th or 12th. If you don't mind me asking, when you did the quote online and got an offer was that it? They come give you the check and take the car?

I didn't actually sell to Carvana, just took the offer and went to Ford to see if they'd match it.

Hmm well still pretty darn good! I'll be keeping that in mind, thanks! I love the blue with the red accents. If only the tremor was available in the supercab size.

Wow, new truck looks great, man! I have been seriously thinking about upgrading to a Tremor at some point, but I usually try to put in five years and 100,000 miles on my vehicles before letting them go, and my 2019 Ranger Lariat is nowhere near those figures, not to mention that I have put a ton of money into mods that would be lost as well. How do you like the ride of the Tremor compared to your XLT? It seems like the upgraded suspension is the main selling point compared to our "normal" Rangers, and it sure sounds like a nice package, but how does it actually ride in real life? You are one of the few members who has run on both and can make the comparison....

While I haven't gotten to any real offroading with it yet, I can say the suspension has great street mannerisms. The Fox suspension is really balanced and doesn't have a ton of roll like the fx4 trim does stock. I had no complaints about my standard xlt suspension on the street, but offroad it was incredibly rough and didn't dampen much well. Very happy with the upgrade, especially since I was planning to upgrade to the ford fox 2.0 suspension and leather seats soon.

Not sure how you got such a high trade in value.
I just check Carvana for my 2020 Lariat FX4 w/ every possible option and they only offered my $27k

Congrats on the tremor!
That's crazy. Maybe it's regional? Trucks outsell cars here in Texas probably 10-1 lol.

But yeah, MSRP is up and there's significantly less rebates and deals out there right now. The sticker on this one was just over 42k and they took $2,250 off in rebates plus another $500 for the recent graduate discount. So it was 39k selling price.

Not sure.
I’m in NY state.
16k miles on a flawless Lariat supercab, Fox 2.0, FX4, tow pkg, chrome pkg, magnetic paint, factory bed liner, technology package, adaptive cruise, etc.

I understand how they’ll move the profit from the trade to the new car, but this was a sell-only quote from Carvana.

As said by others, there's a lot that may go into the trade or carvana offers. Location, market conditions, inventory etc.

If a dealer (or carvana) location is in the boondocks, and they don't have a large market, then the offer may be lower. If the dealer is out of new inventory and can't get anything from the manufacturer then they may be clamoring for a decent used car.

Something else to consider is on used cars they don't have an MSRP. On new cars if the dealer wants to charge more than MSRP they have to call it an additional dealer markup. On used cars they can charge anything they want.

ADDED, and yes, there are lots of ways dealers can make money. They may take a bath on the front if they think they can make money on the back with warranties, financing, etc.

I was able to get $2k off sticker (invoice) and then the $2.25K rebate just a couple days ago. They even did a dealer trade to get it. It was delivered to the original WI dealer on 4/7, so wasn't sitting around long. The dealer I purchased from, had 2 Lariats that were eligible for the extra $750 rebate for being on their lot over 60 days. Some dealers are more motivated to make a sale than others.

I like it! Though I'd never do any real off-roading so I'd be just buying a 'look'...then everyone would be calling me a poser, mall-crawler etc.

ENJOY!

Congrats on the tremor!
I'm guessing their pricing matrix has some metric calculating price by state, zip and/or region...maybe someone out there has more info on how they figure 'value'?
