After recently being stimulated I've decided to get my bed solutions figured out.

Scheduled Line-X, stopped by Ford dealership ordered drivers and passengers side Swingboxes, and the missing tiedowns/hardware. The tiedowns were pricey, but I've got about $400 worth of Ford Pass points so out of pocket it won't be bad.

Most importantly for you guys, we've got a guinea pig. Ordered my Fas-Top Travel Package today.

Options were...

Black out panel (just in case I need it)

Mesh panel (dogs)

G-hooks

Basically everything except the storage bag.

$1621 shipped

Website says orders ship in 1 to 2 weeks.

More reports to come.

Gave Bismark Canvas a call today just to check on lead time.

Guy on the phone verified that the "ships in one to two weeks" is not only accurate, they bake some extra into that and most are recieved in that time.

Tomorrow I'll be removing all tie downs and plugging the holes for bedliner application on Wednesday.

I'm just going to do that myself to avoid any possible headaches.

I'm getting so anxious.

Have been checking my order on their website daily for updates. It's said processing all week. However, today there's a disclaimer added on....

Getting close! Bedliner is good, had to chase a few holes with a tap, swingboxes are in and organized, dogs are itching to go cruising. All I need now is the lid!

And I've got some tracking numbers. UPS says Friday.

Hope they're right!

So everything went pretty well.

Only 3 install issues...

1. Front of bed gap. There was no included solution for the gap. Used some imagination at home depot along with tips gathered from here. Used some weatherstripping tape in the corners under the rails. And a garage door bottom seal cut to fit held with with Gorilla tape on the big gap. Looks to seal well.

2. The storage flap for the topper was missing. Sent out an email, I'm sure they'll send one out.

3. There was more assembly required than the videos on YouTube show. Nothing crazy though, easy enough to figure out.

Overall looks good. Tonneau is nice, topper is nice. Currently running as topper with no front window and mesh rear for the muts. Will probably wait till I get the storage flap to run in tonneau mode.

My older dog, 6 year old St Bernard, loves it. He's a little tentative in and out due to the bed height. He's the rider of the family and is super pleased with it.

The puppy, 9 month old Great Pyrenees, is going to have to warm up to it some more. But he seems to dig it more than the cab or my wife's CX-5. Definitely much less whining riding back there. He only attempted to climb in the window once when we got on the interstate but a quick correction fixed that.

Nice and secure in windy weather up to 80 mph or so. So far digging it.

Ohh, BTW, I don't think the topper will stow with swing boxes in place. Think I overlooked that while planning. If so I'll run the boxes only with topper up or sell them off.

Pics to come.

Customer service seems alright. They responded to my email right away saying they'll get a storage flap out to me ASAP.

I'll post pics once I get it so as to show everything correctly installed.

I did not. Nobody seemed too interested, seemed like a waste of time. I'll get you some posted this weekend.
I'd still be interested to see it!

Topper closed up with flap out. No sticky velcro included, but doesn't seem to need it. Flap sits more on top, touching mostly only plastic.

Closed up with flap tucked into tailgate the way I've been doing it mostly.

Screened rear insert zips in, it's a pretty fine mesh but works well for the dogs. Clear plastic rear insert and corresponding velcro on black privacy panel is stowed away as I'll probably use them very rarely.

The coolers were "procured" from work to replace the swingboxes that interferred with topper stowed. One holds straps and recovery gear, one is free for last delivery of the night to my house (milkman) or trip refreshments as needed.

Fold up steps are so I don't have to lift dogs in.

Front window is removable but they don't offer a mesh insert, I haven't asked but didn't see one online. I'm running with it removed. This way I don't have a clear plastic window to clean slobber off of, I can open the rear window to talk to the dogs, and they get plenty of ventilation.

Dogs will get a ride later today and I'll put the topper down and tonneau on by the end of the weekend. More pics will come.

Steps when unfolded.

Super sturdy, got 'em from Amozon, can't find the link right now but will if somebody wants it.
