BEVs are still for early adopters. in 20 years, they'll cost less, have 1000 - 2000 mile range, charge in 3 mins to 70% - 5 mins to 80% and require basically no maintenance. Gasoline will also probably eqv- of 10-15 bucks a gallon, so you can see where this is going.
Someone once said there will be flying cars by 2020...

I have my doubts that hydrogen will take off. Toyota is selling their hydrogen car at a huge loss. I think the market is shifting towards EV as being the primary propulsion for vehicles. I'm sure we'll see something else eventually come out, but EV is definitely going to be the next primary drivetrain in vehicles.
Toyota tried pushing hydrogen in their forklifts a few years ago, offering all types of rebates and incentives.....it went no where.

One EV car burned thousands of acres in AZ last year. The sheeple have been fed lies.

I would have gotten the Rivian truck over my Ranger, but it was just a little out of my price range(r). I think they are like 70k? Crazy. Hopefully the Electric F-150 comes in well under that. i just look forward to the overall price coming down as they take a larger place in the automotive market and can take advantage of the economy of scale. I'm sure they will never be as cheap as a ICE, but they could get closer. I think the manufactures are taking advantage of the government rebate and just charging an extra $6500 and saying "Look at the Savings you can get with the rebate!"

3.EV's definitely suffer in the cold, but with battery warming, pretty sure company's are reducing the issue. I don't think its anywhere close to 40% and this will be improved even more over time
Maybe pigs will fly some day but, for now, cold weather definitely affects BEV mileage range but
for those in sunny hotel California this is not an issue.

So sorry, I said 40% but it is up to 52%.

I never said it didn't impact milage. Again, we are very much in the infancy of EV technology. That range impact will vary heavily by manufacturer and battery setup.

We can go back and forth sending links with varying findings. It looks like the answer to the question is YES, cold weather does impact range. The extent of which heavily depends on the temperature, and the vehicle. Some are impacted more than others. I have no doubt that this issue will be minimized in the future.

ICE vehicles also struggle in intense cold but they advanced technology (fuel injection, block heaters, stronger batteries with more CCA, multiweight oil).

I'm all in for EV's. It is the way of the future it will just take awhile for it to become more mainstream. I think if you hate EV's, then you've never been in one. The instant torque is insane

I bought a 2019 Ranger bc my old one crapped out but I've been waiting for a useful electric truck for years to be my daily driver.

I already have a cybertruck on order and may put down a pre- order the recently revealed Canoo truck, which is my favorite of any so far due to utility and usefulness.
