I have noticed my auto stop not stopping before but usually after a long period of not driving it and eventually it came back. Now this weekend, I have drove the Shizz out of it - still didn't auto stop.

Made sure AC/Heat was off.
Made sure seat heaters were off.
Made sure there was nothing except my cell phone plugged in.
Put about 200 highway miles on it .

Couldn't get the Auto Stop to work.

What are we thinking here?
Battery? It is a 2019 and 2 years out of an AZ car battery is about the limit.

Is there a way to see what condition the truck was seeing that kept it running?

EDIT TO ADD - I did have an issue this AM where I got a series of warnings that the front camera was obscured, lane assist was off, crash detection was off, and a bunch of other stuff tied to the cam. Happened at about 80mph and I almost Auto Stopped in my shorts. Related?

My guess is the battery. I'm taking my Jeep in tomorrow for the same thing. It's telling me the battery is weak. I don't use the feature to often, but we have several "all day" stop lights in town. It's quite handy when I hit those at the wrong time.

Greg it's the battery and mine is the same age as yours. Mine does this with the intelligent Access and it will get so weak only the drivers door will unlock. I do use the battery maintainer and that's the only thing keeping it alive. Going to the dealer next month to have my last free oil change done and will have them look at mine and hopefully get a new one on them.

That AZ heat is really hard on batteries.

What did the truck say was the reason? I never checked mine when my battery went south. I'd be curious to see if there is a progression as the battery gets older. I'll be watching this screen in the future.

First time I heard that people down in the South/Southwest seemingly need to replace their batteries every few years I was so surprised. I have never had to replace a battery on any of my vehicles for the lifetime of the vehicle here and just thought that was the norm. haha
I have come to expect 3 years out of our car/truck batteries. It's not AZ heat but it's over 90 from July to Oct. The Ranger went out at 14 months and was a concern.

In my previous life as a car manufacturer rep I had to do a battery analysis in AZ because they were replacing twice as many batteries as the rest of the US. Nothing was wrong and they finally had to accept the fact it was the heat.

Been here over 25 years, average battery life is about 18 months in my personal experience with all kinds of different cars and trucks. Just another sunshine tax.

Don’t plug in night lights to negate auto Stop/Start ..

My commute is so short and all the rest is freeway trips to CA so for me the Auto/Stop start function is no big deal. My wife’s 2019 VW has this feature and it always works in AZ, so might be a Ranger issue. Interested to see how other AZ trucks compare with different commutes/needs.

Yep it's the battery. Confirmed on Fuel Economy screen (charging) and then after driving around for a while with NO accessories running at all, I checked the battery with a volt meter - 10.4v on what should have been a full charge. Maybe a dead or dying cell in there.

Soooooooooo..........???????

What is everyone dropping in there these days? Is a Yellow Top worth it? They cost $100 more.

Edit to add: My use profile is a daily driver when there is no Covid. But for now it sits until the weekend when it goes to home depot for projects and I like to go out in the desert and camp / run ham radio gear on occasions. It will be 120 here this summer and I'll take it camping in the winter where it gets down to 28ish. Any colder and I get a cabin or hotel.

Greg it should still be under warranty if under 36K so if it its bring it back to the dealer and let them replace it free. If not I've always liked Interstate batteries, they never left me stranded back east in sub zero weather.
