Love the dual exhaust pipes if that’s what they’re producing!
Yep...the Ranger should have come that way from the factory. I am installing a Gibson Elite dual exit exhaust with ceramic black tips...soon as it ships!

Eh. Duals on a 4cyl.. whether its a 1998 civic or a brand new ranger.. kinda just screams try-hard.

To each his own though!

Glad I wasn't forced to pay for factory duals ?

I just like the look of duals....don’t really like loud exhaust.

Hi Jon,

Likely 4P units...4Ps are salable but usually not sold to the public. 4P stands for Pre Production Product Proveout. It can and does usually take place quite a few months prior to Job #1. Gives Engineering, Marketing etc time to tweak any identified glitches be they Engineering or Assembly related. These units are normally not batch built but mixed into regular production which gives the launch team time to follow each unit down the line....you can always tell in the plant which is which as there is a swarm of folks around each unit....

Best,

Call me old fashioned lol but, I really like the look. Especially on chilly morning just looking behind as you pull away and you can see the exhaust swirl behind you out both sides. I know it’s never gonna sound great, but again not why I did it....

And its gonna ship Monday 3/8! Not too bad, I ordered it February 19th. Considering it’s built as ordered, coming from west coast to east coast, free shipping and no sales tax. And got it under retail....they even threw in tee shirt lol....sold!

Anyways bring on the Maverick....it lets Ford concentrate on a better 6th and 7th generation Ranger to come. People looking for a small well equipped compact truck can go that route and maybe make the Ranger the best it can be.

Maverick as a truck and a Mustang as a SUV, still trying to understand Ford's branding strategy. Interesting truck though.

Falken Widpeak tires probably means this is the FX4 or Timberline model. Looks like a winner. Not sure that exhaust is final. Looks like it's against the rear suspension. XLT AWD with 302A package for right at $30,000 (guess based of Bronco Sport pricing) will sell well IMHO. I might consider one just because the key pad is integrated into the B pillar and not a tacky afterthought.. LOL

Agreed.

Why isn't it a Courier? Or a Ranchero?

Judging by the looks they should've called it the Bronco Sport Ranchero.

I suffer from the same confusion of re-purposing model names for different a class of vehicle. The Maverick name makes sense for a “truck” - I get it but I can’t get that ugly 70s 4-door Maverick out of my mind. Yes, I said “ugly” - as in AMC Matador ugly.
