Cool on the applique. Those speakers made a MAJOR difference in the Taco even without an amp. Good luck that is a nice project.

I also wanted to try Dave’s (@AzScorpion) suggestions but this is what happens when US sellers list their products on the Canadian Amazon site.

I used to ship a lot to Canada from the US. Easiest way so they don’t get hammered is to have it sent to a US address. We relabel it to them and declare it a gift or professional sample. Just postage unless it’s an expensive item. Then they do have to pay duty buts that’s all

They would charge me their price and shipping - shipping would be higher than a similar distance in the US because their would be customs declarations that have to be included that state value, type of good, country of origin, etc. Ground would be cheapest shipping option.

This would all be in USD and the credit card company would convert it to CAD and take a small FX commission - about 25-30% at most times.

It would arrive at Canada Post if sent by USPS where in-house Canada Customs agents would do their job. If it was UPS or FedEx ground, it would arrive at their terminals where Canada Customs agents inspect all incoming packages, daily.

Customs officials would assess any applicable duties based on the country of origin (China, Mexico, US, EU, etc.) and trade treaties. They would calculate federal Goods and Services Tax (GST) owed (5%) and any provincial sales tax (PST) owed (0-10%, depending on the province it’s going to). They would also assess a brokerage fee. Canada Post is a flat rate - about $5.00. The brokerage fee for doing it at the courier services is usually around $30-$40 because they have to “visit” the site, even though they do it every day and it’s pretty much their regular workplace in our biggest cities.

So, when this comes through Amazon, it is all considered up front and reflected in the price. If I order direct, my package is held at UPS, FedEx, or the Post Office and it’s released when I pay the amounts owing.

That’s why a $1,200 FP suspension kit costs $1,800+ if ordered from Benny.

Keep in mind that a plumber, administrator, mechanic, or Corporate Communications Consultant ? makes about as much in salary/wages, dollar for dollar, as their US counterparts.

But, but, free healthcare! ?

Sure, lots of people in our border towns have a shipping box in the US but they run the risk of having to bend over for the rubber glove on the way back into Canada if they don’t declare it properly - oh, and gifts are counted the same as goods. ?

What I did NOT receive is an order from autoanything.com of the EGR In-Channel Window Visors from 12/15/2020. This order has been delayed 5 times now from the original ship date of 1/4/2021. Latest delay is now 3/4/2021.... multiple emails with their customer service have done nothing but piss me off even more. Anyone know the email structure of the company?? Need to politely inform Sr Leadership of my love for their service.
