I picked this Base 4 wd here in Florida last week .....I love it so far .....black on black obviously , plenty of power with this 2.3 , quiet, classy ......mods I will post as time goes on . Rims, Rough Country 2.5 Leveling Kit ordered , Bedliner application next week , all weather mats , bugshield , 2 cans O' Scotchguard , some sort of keyless remote addition are all in the very near term . My first Ford ever.

Scored some 17" Ford takeoffs on Craigslist . Not a single scratch on them . I LOVE the way they look on the truck . Totally transforms the look.

Great score on the wheels. The truck is shaping up nicely. I have the AVS also and it really helps, but i have to say, if I lived in Fl. with those damn love bugs I'd have to have a screen on the front. Our trucks have so much detail to the front end. There's so much to clean with those horny little bugs.

Installed Husky liner mudflaps today....a few reviews said they dont contour fit ????? They fit tight like a glove....I like these to prevent rock chips . Quality pieces. I used self tappers and predrilled them .

I started trying to add non Ford remotes to my truck today but ran out of time .... I got about half way there . My XL only came with good old fashioned keys - its a stripper / base model. I decided to try a Crimestopper Sp02 alarm system that has 2 remotes. I have had a hexx of a time trying to find a door wiring diagram on the internet for this 2021. I guess I need to break down and buy a Haines manual. Anybody got a door wiring diagram they can share ? Anyway fooling with my voltmeter and ohmeter it looks like I found the 2 wires on the door unlock / lock interior switch which must be momentarily grounded to cause a lock unlock. The alarm system people chat were no help and the manual that came with it isnt any help at all. I am going to run power to the alarm module tomorrow and hopefully not fry anything and try them for the first time .......fingers crossed.

I got the Non Ford Crimestopper SP02 remotes working but not without difficulties ! I buttoned everything up tested everything and was a happy camper......after picking up all my tools etc. I came back out 20 minutes later to open my truck with the remote and it WOULDNT open ...aaaaaargh !!!!! When I looked through the window the dash display said something like inhibit switches . It turns out there is a setting called inhibit switches in the Rangers display menus ... after 30 seconds on purpose all the interior switches are disabled from working . IF you leave your windows down but lock the car someone cant come up and stick their arm in the door - push the switch and unlock your car and get in is the logic supposedly. Settings , Truck , ,locks .....I removed the display checkbox for inhibit switches and I was good to go after that ........ I think lol....... Over the next few days I will update and see if its solid. Wiring turned out to be you connect the alarms 2 wires, unlock - and lock - to purple / white and gray/ orange at the door switch . I did manage to slightly break my armrest front cover aaaaargh on its backside ....I epoxied it back together but I will have to get one off ebay probably :( . For $45 the truck now has 2 remotes for entry. Im sure Ford would have charged me a ton of $$$$$$.

First wax since I bought it a few weeks ago ..... trying Turtle Wax Ice Seal n Shine original formula for the first time....supposedly lasts for months - we shall see. First impressions - pretty easy to work with , you apply it with a microfiber towel and spray the panels, no cure time , ...occasional streaking easily taking off with the flip of the microfiber towel to a dryer side however . I put it on everything , body, glass ,black trim , bumpers mirrors , rims which is says you can. Feels pretty average slick wise to the touch as most spray waxes do - I have felt other brands slightly slicker after application . I will update how it holds up. Next I have a new bottle of Adams graphene and the Improved formula Turtle Wax Ice Seal n Shine with SIo2 and polymers ..... I put 303 marine grade protectant on my tonneau cover which I have had pretty good luck with in the past on other vehicles.

Why not use FordPass app for remote starts?
