51 years ago today 1/31/70 I arrived in country on a Flying Tigers 707 at Cam Ranh Bay. Shipped from there to the Americal Division, Chu Lai. Marched/flew all over Quang Nam and Quang Ngai Provinces.

I spent 15 months as a 130 crew chief flying out cargo out of Cam Ranh Prior to going to Ubon Thailand to the AC-130..

I got there RVN in January 1969, missed TET by luck (Hernia operation in basic training).... Welcome Home All !

Same could be said in reverse. As I've said in my current job, I'm glad there are folks who are willing to do certain things because it means I don't have to, and I can do the things they don't want to do.

out Ft, Lewis Nov 28 70 , home end of Jan after drive down west coast accross to Miami up east coast to RI . Drove in my 69 Z 28 so it was fun all the way . Parents were mad to say the least .

My brother was hanging out in the Tonkin, yachting with the Navy then. I followed on a few years later. Funny thing, we both served with the same Chief, different ships, same rates, same station.
