5th oil change at 37,833 miles. Mobil 1 full synthetic oil and m1-102a filter used (as always). Trip B, which I reset when I reset the oil life monitor showed that over 8909 miles I averaged 19.6 mpg according to the truck computer. The oil life monitor said I had 10% life remaining.
Quick math since I have 265/70r17's and have no intentions to calibrate the computer for the 5% difference in circumference...
-My actual distance traveled between oil changes was about 9354 miles
-My Last oil change showed 20MPG but also was a mixture of factory tires and new BFG AT's so I won't really have a decent baseline data point til the next oil change. Not going to hand math every tank as I do partial fillups everytime I need to run into the gas station... But the drop of .4 mpg according to trip B computer from the last oil change was due to my lead foot and cheap gas. If I were to apply the same math my MPG is actually about 20.58 or greater and i'm fine with that seeing as I am constantly sitting between 70-80mph the majority of the time.
Got my tires rotated and balanced about a week ago.. I plan on changing out my rear diff fluid in the upcoming weeks just as cheap insurance. I actively use my truck to haul stuff in the bed and it occasionally gets some good towing use. Just curious to see if I find any other metal shavings or extreme discoloration compared to my first time replacing it which I sort of expected based on others posts here on the forum.
