My goals for my suspension are to improve ride, control, responsiveness and handling. I’d also like to level the truck some. The truck will be a street only machine. From reading a bunch of posts here it looks like Bilstein or Eibach leveling struts or Fox coil overs. I realize there is a large difference in price between leveling struts and coil overs but what setup will give me the best results on the street? Thanks

My son has said to me...get Bilstein. The Fox are for Baja use. I'm waiting till I wear the stock out a bit more.

I have Eibach’s all the way around, using stock front springs, and I don’t think I could be happier! Much improved ride and I’m 98% street highway usage. I have a 2019 Lariat FX4

I am running the Ford Performance (Fox) 2.0 Leveling Kit on my FX4. It vastly improved the street ride, which was my main concern, although I also appreciate that it improves the approach and crossover angles, because you never know....

You are correct. The Fox is designed to take a heavy hit over Baja courses. That'll work on unexpected roadway you may encounter. I guess the Bilstein works best for loads and towing in a more usual workday. I'm still learning and watching.

Thanks Landis, what circlip height did you set the front struts to? How level is your truck?

I researched this like most and bought the Fox 2.0 after reading so many positive posts. I don’t plan on doing much off roading but if I need to “bug out” because this nation is going nuts, at least it’ll give me more options of getting places. I’m somewhat joking but also serious.

I already installed the rears and it’s made a huge difference in handling. Crazy that Ford doesn’t have better suspension for this truck. The stock suspension is so bad! And don’t even consider a level spacer, it’d probably just make it worse.

This is me exactly and was thinking after a small amount of research and having seen someone who did similar, I was thinking of the Bilstein 5100 on the front adjusted to raise the front to the approximate height as the rear.

If you're looking to improve the handling, prolly best to wait for a lowering kit to hit the market.

Raising the CG to level the front with the back will not do a lot to improve handling. Lowering the back to the same as the front would likely be more beneficial.

I set them at 2.25" had another 1/2" I could have gone. The truck sits very close to level....the back is still slightly higher.

If you are only staying on the streer and dont bother with offroad I would recommend the Bilsteins. They are great shocks and will do what you want!!

Well, I’ve narrowed it down to either Bilstein or Eibach leveling struts with factory springs and matching rear shocks. I think I will only raise the front a moderate amount. What is your preference between Bilstein or Eibach? Is one smoother riding? Thanks

I cant speak much for Eiback but I can for Bilstein. Bilsteins are very nice on the ride for both on and offroad
