I turned off all of the connectivity options, as well as the vehicle hot-spot, and I think that stopped it. It's incredibly annoying, especially given how slow the Sync system is relative to CarPlay.
Wouldn't turning off connectivity options disable my for pass remote start?

This is the only way I can tell if I forgot my phone at home :) Other than that it's madly annoying.

It is a way to force you to sign up for ford pass.
I have the useless FordPass app, and I still get the same prompt. I’d like to hear a real solution, it’s annoyin!

Hi David,

I was plagued with this problem too. I am no fan of Ford Sync...was not from day one as it was launched before its time. My old boss who ended up as Executive Vice President of Engineering lost his job over the launch of this troubled software system. What I did was disable my Ranger's connectivity with my WiFi system. That stopped the annoying popups and I refuse to update my system and pretty much ignore Sync 3. My phone does fine for gps Screen is mostly for the back up camera as I ignore the center section for most of my driving time...

Not a Fan of Sync

You are on to it here. The truck wants to have bluetooth enabled on your paired device at all times. I get the connectivity message every time, and only, when I climb in without my phone.

Guess I'm one of the lucky ones. I'm running SYNC 3.4 with Fordpass enabled. Have android phone with Bluetooth enabled all the time, it connects to my hearing aids. Also my ODBII adaptor. Only time I get the pop-up is if I forget my phone which is rarely. Yes SYNC and Fordpass have their problems. Luckily this is one I done have. Ford does need to get their S##T together on updates

I'm not a big fan of Sync either. Especially in my 2015 Fusion. But, I have become a fan of Apple Carplay in my Ranger. It is really nice for hands free navigation and here in Minnesota the law only allows hands free use of a phone.

This was one problem I mentioned to Ford during a recent ownership satisfaction survey. Another being breathing car exhaust fumes in traffic because recirc will not stay on. Seems both of these could be remedied with simple software updates.

Once again Phil to the rescue. My truck was built this month, and that problem still exist. I thought it was just mine as it is the lower end system, but it seems to be across both. I'll disconnect mine today, and stop those annoying messages. Thanks Phil.

This past week I started getting that message popping up on my screen about Location and Data collection. Have had the truck since end of April 2021, and it just started doing it (December 2021). From reading this thread, I think maybe my problem is that because I upgraded to a new iPhone I need to pair the phone to the vehicle. Now to figure out how to do that. When I bought the truck, my salesman set everything up for me with Sync, Fordpass and the phone I had at that time.

Before finding this thread, I called Ford at 1-800-392-3673 for Ford Pass. I told the lady I didn't mind if Ford collected my data, but I don't want it shared... wanted to know how I can opt out of data sharing. This is what she told me to do:

In vehicle's Sync, go to Settings.
Then under Connectivity should see where it says Connected Vehicle Features. There should be an Option to turn off "Share Vehicle Data" (if the dot is bright blue, it's on... just touch there on screen to turn it off).

EDIT TO ADD AN UPDATE: Instructions she gave me did not work to stop that pop up notification screen about location and data collection. Very annoying. I did pair the new phone and removed the old phone from pairing, didn't make a difference. Just don't understand why this started showing up this week.
