then there was this

finally, I had to ask someone walking down the street to close my tailgate for me as I didn't have any strength left to do it.. I did (however) put a good coat of wax on the plates and paint before mounting, just cause I suspect that the different metals will react with devasting tailgate failure

Like this guy ahead of me who had put his damper in last year..

The new to me rim arrived. The full size matching spare is coming together.

Having a fifth matching tire with TPMS is the way to go. The first thing I noticed when I removed the 16” steel spare from mine was the accumulation of wet debris on the top side. The steel wheel traps dirt and moisture in the welded seam, eventually causing destructive corrosion. This is not a problem with the alloy wheels. Enjoy!

You may have gotten @FoD (he's from the left coast) but you will never get @Texasota , @RANGER PRIDE, @Tracy Bowman, @IdahoRanger and @HTX1811!

There are others that are still damper resisters. We have each others back!
You got that right!!! We’ve got to be strong. My arm muscles are getting humongous with all this tailgate lowering! Better than any gym. I just have to be sure to change arms from time to time so my muscles will appear equal.:muscle::LOL: Just beware of @AzScorpion’s persuasive discount codes!:sunglasses:

Slid my weary 68 yr old a** under the truck and did my 1st oil change, really not bad at all and spilled nary a drop on the garage floor. while warming up the truck though noticed some water drops dripping from the front of the muffler, don't know if I whacked the muffler on my recent hunting trip which left a ton of caked much on the underside, but don't mind a few drips from that area.

I did notice that the oil pan appears to be very robust - I contrast that with my Hyundai 2.0T where it's very thin aluminum. Does the strength of the oil pan have anything to do with helping to maintain the integrity of the block or is it more about making it more puncture resistant.

Took advantage of some nice midwest weather today. Did my trucks 5th oil change & tire rotation today at 25000 miles. Still no evidence of fuel in the oil as the level was wright on the mark.
