Someone could do this over Remote Desktop for you if you wanted the changes done. Although local meetup might be safer technically speaking.
Yeah, I don’t know what I’m doing and I don’t have a PC, Mac user here. Not sure if that makes a difference but typically its off Windows

Ahh yeah that makes it harder. Nearly all the changes can be done with clicking a box rather than changing the As Built data. So if you did have access to a PC I could always walk you through it.

Took some time to figure out but... you need to enable the graphics and controls within the IPC configuration module first. This gives the the menu option to enable and disable the speed limit recognition and speed warning in the menu.

(I don’t have the specific points to modify as I’m at work but I can go back in and look if anyone has issues finding it.)

After that go to the IPMA module configuration and enable “Traffic Sign Recognition” and “Traffic Sign Recognition Mode”

The IPMA “Image Processing Module A” was the key to making this all work. It amazes me that ford has all of the hardware/software available to do this but doesn’t implement it.
Probably because they install Navigation which tells you what the speeds are for the most part. If this function relies on a camera, depending where you are, that might be moot. Around here in rural areas, there are rarely signs but the Nav seems to know maybe 40-50% of the time. On main roads, Nav is spot on within a few yards of change.

Well this is instantaneous readout. It’s able to read signs from construction and temporary speed areas. It is real time which is far more valuable than the GPS and map data that is only good for the time at which the data was entered. After the maps are released plenty of speeds have changed. If you use car play with google or Apple Maps you won’t see that data either.

It’s a free feature waiting to be used which I appreciate. My Volvo has sign recognition and I have come to rely on it pretty frequently.

Did you lose anything in the process?
Nothing was lost or displaced. It’s a feature that is available in other markets that is not enabled on our vehicles from the factory.

Next thing I’m going to try is enable ACC with stop and go. It’s an option with the same type of hardware so it might be possible.

Got the speed limit sign reading to work!! Real time camera reading not map based either.

That Speed Limit is probably just for the Lariet dashboards? The XLT has a graphical section but not like that.

I’m thinking so. I’m not certain of any vehicles with the same IPC as the XLT that also have the IPMA. Unless the Lane Keep system is available on XLT then it should have the IPMA but might be missing the ICP operations needed to display it.

Not arguing with you. All I said is GPS, regardless of age of maps at least fulfill the gap in lack of info. And like I said, in the country around here, there are no signs but the gps still shows speeds somewhat. So it depends where you live. ...TETO...

I agree, also not trying to step on your toes. Now you can have both!

I've heard on that one that the wheel speed sensors aren't correct for it to work. I'd love to be wrong
