Hi David,

I thought the instructions were pretty good. You remove the plastic silver piece from the center of the bumper and the license bracket screws. Sorry I didn't take any pictures during the install.
Oh ok, guess I'm not very good at following directions either ?. Thanks for the quick reply.

Did a little towing over the weekend. Helped the old man do some tree work around his house. Really surprised how well tow mode worked. Honestly, I wish normal mode held the revs a little higher. I hate that it lugs down so far before shifting.

Side note: how do you keep rocks off your doors with big tires? I have mud flaps and nerf bars and already 2 small stone chips in the lower door. You guys that don't run either probably get peppered. Maybe have to do some Expel film or something. Or just continue to cringe when I hear it and drink the pain away later.

I had my Line-X liner installed today and am really happy with it. The dealer followed trough on the middle tie downs as requested. I'm glad that I got that taken care of before I had the liner installed because they spray over the tie downs to prevent rust.

While at the Line-X shop I also asked them about the issue I read here with bed covers leaking after having a liner installed. They told me they are aware of the issue and have found a way to prevent that and should I purchase one from them it will come with a lifetime warranty. So I'll be going back there when I purchase a bed cover.

I actually put some weight in the bed. Just over 1000 lb in landscape edgers. Barely leveled it out and didn't even know it was back there.

Could you elaborate on LKQ, is it the used auto parts site? I already have the two hooks on my model. Was the install simple?
LKQ is a salvage yard. You have to get lucky and find a wrecked Ranger with the skid plate in good condition. And I bought it used though lkqonline.com I believe it is.
it’s a very easy install. You will need the 4 bolts to install it tho.

Hi Folks,

I brought home our new Lincoln Nautilus to get acquainted with the Ranger parked next to it. Last I left them, they were talking to each other .... Getting used to knowing each other as they are both very nice products of the Ford Motor Co.

Very NIce Phil.... Looks better than my Ranger's roomie, a 2017 Escape in Platinum White ...I can use the X plan as a former Ford supplier, now retired. (Bethlehem Steel, now Arcelor Mittal) - probably some new fangled high tech steels in there - TRIP, Dual Phase, TWIP, etc). I guess you get a slightly better deal as a retiree.

I ordered a few things for my truck!
  • ARB Summit Bumper
  • Warn VR EVO 10-S winch
  • Eibach Pro Truck Lift system
I'm a little sick to my stomach and a little excited all at the same time!!!!!
I felt the same way when I bought new tires and level kit 2 weeks after buying my Ranger. Once you get them and install them that sick feeling will go away and you'll have a big smile. :D

You're not too far from me.

After you get that ARB bumper installed, I would love to see it ( I just won't let my wife know I'm looking at it :lipssealed:)

I should have my Black Horse rear bumper by then and I'd love to see if the ARB is a good match for it :like:

Hi Trevor,

As a Retiree, I get Z plan which is 2½% below dealer invoice. X-Plan is about ½% above invoice. In both cases the invoice must be provided to the customer and incentives still apply to the A,Z,X pricing...Usually a very good deal! I get 4 X Plans to give away each year but rarely give but one or two.

As for the Nautilus, the old magnet test confirmed all steel construction. The 2.7 V6 Twin Turbo is amazingly powerful. Darling little wifelet is struggling with all the tech but loves the digital speedometer. Had another Sync 3 lesson this morning...baby steps...Need to check if it is 3.3 or 3.4 though...
