No sun/moonroof or power rear slider?

Am I missing this on the configurator, or are these just flat not available on the Ranger.

Am considering replacing my 2007 Sport Trac with a new Ranger, but man I love opening up the roof and rear windows and getting the "convertible" type airflow experience without having to have wind blowing in my face.

They offer both on the F-150, but not on the Ranger? Seems a little thing, but would almost be a deal killer for me.

Anybody know if I am reading this right, and if there is any way to get feedback to Ford on this?

The sun/moonroof is not offered not the Ranger. Wether the rear glass is a power slider or not isn't really clear in any info yet.

I’m glad there is no sun/moon roof. I’m 6’3” and not having them means more headroom for me. I’m thinking about seeing if I can get the Lariat trim special order to have a fixed rear window.

My wife has had 2 cars with moonroof, the first leaked after about 4 years and her current SUV has a panoramic moonroof but it sometimes rattles when it gets bumpy. A power sliding rear window would be nice, but I don't see any small truck with that feature. I know the F150 had some issues with the power slider breaking.

I have thought about the lack of a power slider also. It is strange to not be power if you can't reach it. I ordered the SuperCab so maybe I will be able to reach it?

A power slider would come at a cost, either stretch the whole pickup or lose precious leg room in the back seat row. Same goes for headroom if you add a sun/moonroof, as someone has already mentioned. I’d rather have the extra legroom and headroom but I can see how this isn’t a big concession for some owners.

I'm with you on longing for the moon roof. Got my first one on a 1991 Escort GT and haven't been without one since. I'm thinking about postponing my purchase to see if the next year has one. Starting to consider other trucks now. And that manual slider option...better ideas from Ford...

The slider should have no impact on that. The actuator would just be behind a trim panel and the miniscule 1/4" sheathed cable to move the glass would add nothing to the frame.

You can buy aftermarket power sliders from companies like CR Laurence also. If Ford doesn't offer one, they probably will in a few months.

The Lariat is the only trim to come standard with the rear slider at all. It really should be powered. It isn't like a previous gen Ranger where you could just reach back and open it.

I agree the rear slider really should have been power and it would be nice to at least have the sunroof as an optional add-on.

I looked up CR Laurence and it looks like they make a power rear slider for the T6 Ranger which is currently $623. Not a bad price but it invovles replacing the entire back window and I'm not sure I want aftermarket rear glass. Never seen this company's product in person. Anybody know how it compares to OEM?

You could possibly sell your manual slider to an XL or XLT owner to help recover some cost.

I was actually ponderimg a DIY slider. Essentially a linear actuator and hard cable pull. Probably $200 for all the parts.
