It's always entertaining to read opinions from both sides of the fence.
Same topic on the Tacoma forums: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/new-ranger-3rd-gen-tacoma-my-personal-experiences.597107/
I'm still undecided between the Ranger and Tacoma. Test drove the Ranger, really liked...
The name 'crash bars' is bit misleading because they don't actually provide more protection during a collision. They're designed to pinch the tire and hold it in place in the event of a collision.
I too am interested in the 2020 Tacoma but keep in mind the TRD Pro with auto transmission is $45.5K. The 6 speed manual TRD Pro is $43.5k but practically a unicorn and hard to find in manual for some reason. It's also very difficult to get a Pro for less than MSRP. Most dealers in my area still...
No worries, and sorry if my post came off as defensive. It was mostly in jest. But yeah Radflo is worth taking a look if you want a good quality rebuildable, tunable shock. They may not having the marketing dollars of big companies like Fox and King but they make a damn good product.
Is that a serious question?! Those guys are up there with the big names in suspension technology and racing. Radflo guys know their sh1t and wouldn't hesitate to run them over the other popular brands.
To be fair, this is a 2nd gen which was built up to 2015. The 3rd gen is 2016+. For me personally, I do prefer the styling of the 3rd gen Tacoma over the Ranger.
I really don't get it. Toyota can say all they want regarding sand and debris in rotors. It's just a bullsh1t excuse for cost cutting. Gotta love how the Tacoma fanboys justify their rear drums on the forums too. I love Toyota but I'm trying to take a neutral stance before I drop $45k+ on either...
Ugh that army green color on the Pro is gonna look really good and has me thinking about a Tacoma again. But they still didn't address my biggest complaint and that's engine/transmission. Supposedly there's a software tune that makes a huge difference but it sucks having to pay $800+ to fix what...
I honestly don't even know what brands to look at these days. Everything aside from black steelies is bedazzled with brolocks or some sort of fashion treatment on the lip. I'm open to suggestions! There are some really good looking wheels that I've found that would look so much better without...
Amazing how life can change so quickly in a split second. Needless to say having to replace my wife's daily driver was not in the plan so it will probably delay my purchase for a few months.
Rear-ended by a drunk driver at a very very high rate of speed. I'm just lucky to be alive.
RIP ol' girl
If you keep on waiting for the next best thing, you will always be waiting. There will always be something bigger/better/faster in the pipeline. Just enjoy your vehicle and stay away from automotive media outlets.
Looking for opinions from folks that use their truck beds quite a bit. I've never owned a truck with spray-in liner. It's always been plastic shells and I'm considering the same for the Ranger. I've beat the crap out of my bed shells as I've dragged things like truck axles, steel stock, concrete...
I'm starting to see this trend a lot in all car manufacturers. It seems like regardless if you get the top trim of a particular model, they still remove certain features and options to entice you just to jump up to the bigger more expensive model, ie Ranger vs F150.
