You can temporarily turn off the parking sensors by hitting the button on the center console forward of the shifter that looks like a parking cone with waves going from it.

While I appreciate u can turn them off why should you, there is a fault and ford seem to not give a flying fook. If the air bags didn't work would they advise you to turn them off. Largest car manufacturer in the world and they cant fix a parking sensor, yeah righto

Well, there will be valid times you'll want to turn them off. Going through a car wash, for example. But yeah, if the sensor is going off randomly when it shouldn't you should get that repaired/replaced under warranty if possible.

***2/2/2019 Update*** Solved, Issue Hasn't Reoccurred

Just today my front far left sensor started going off constantly when I go at low speeds. Doesn’t stop. I think it is mainly because of the weather/wind. The sensor is directly where the wind is coming from. Started this morning. I tried cleaning it but really there wasn’t anything to clean off. It has been in the red as you can see from the picture. I actually tried giving it some warm air from my mouth and it started going to the yellow. But went back. So it makes me think there’s some moisture/ice inside or something. Anyone have experience with this with a different vehicle? Emailed the dealership.

Hi all, I recently bought the Wildrak X and this issue occurred 2 days after purchase. On returning to the dealer ship they were fully aware of Th eissue, just decided not to mention it when selling a new $73,000au Ute. We're in WA. From what I have found out since out of the 1000 units made as special edition there is no software to run the front and side parking sensors. Ford need to write the programme and for some reason have not been able to do so. These were released in December 2019 so we now 4 months on. I have since lodged a replacements claim through the Ford charter system to have the vehicle replaced like for like. Basically down to the company not being able to rectify a catagory one fault (safety system) they have to, replace or refund the vehicle. Here's the kicker, out of the 1000 made none are available, so it looks like I'm waiting till September20 to get a new release Wildtrak X. But I'll be honest I'm not holding my breath till I get this in writing. Anyway sorry for the long rant, but I'm thinking cold is not the issue here, mine go off in 34 degree heat.

I had this issue a few times during the winter and it was always when there was ice build up on the sensor. Even after trying to scrape it off it persisted throughout the day.
To have this happen when the ambient temp is well above freezing as @Simondo is describing is not acceptable. I hope that if it is a widespread problem Ford figures it out.

Hi all, just an update on the current situation. So FORD have now responded to the issue and have advised that as far a they are concerned they don't see the issue being such a great deal that they are going to warrant a replacement vehicle under the consumer rights law. Their own charter stipulated that a replacement or a refund will be issued if there is an issue or fault that can not be rectified. So they have asked me to book the car into the local dealer to have the car repaired (free of charge) no shit its a brand new Fookin car, your actually fixing it for me for free. THANKS. So back to the dealer, which still say after the 4th trip since the purchase they can fix the car and they are now going to get back to FORD. Anyone else fancy a trip on the merry go round of FORD??

I have constantly had the same issue in cold and wet weather.... Dealership replaced sensors... Next freezing rain the issue was right back to being a constant problem. I've only leased the vehicle for 4+1/2 months.... Ford appears to be doing nothing to allow return/exchange of the truck... So very very frustrated.

I have the same issue... Ford is only suggesting turning it the sensor system which is not acceptable.

On my wife's '15 C-Max when they get dirty they go off sometimes. And also occasionally in VERY heavy rain - but it only happens when you are driving slowly. It is kind of annoying when you pull up to a stoplight and they start beeping even though no one is close. Cleaning them has always fixed that issue for us.
Ongoing issue for me since I leased the vehicle.... Ford appears to not want to do anything but suggest turning the sensors off.

Same concern with my truck and same response from Ford... This will be the last Ford I ever lease.

So I did get the rust preventative. Which may be it. But once the temperature went up and sun got on it, it went away for me. It did come back a few days ago but for a different sensor and after I cleaned ice off it, it went away again. Then today, there was freezing rain, and it was going off as well. But it started immediately after I was in the freezing rain for a bit after I parked it. Short drive so I didn’t try to clean it. Coworker said it still worth getting them checked but I’ve heard they can be sensitive. Now I’ve also saw online a McDonald’s bag stuck in the bumper can cause it to go off so it can vary. I would use a hair dryer on the sensors and if it stops temporarily, it is definitely the cold. But definitely take it in if it doesn’t sit right with you. Better to have it going off while it is, then when it gets warm and it stops. That’s kind of where I’m stuck, It is not going off so It is hard for a dealer to investigate when it’s not happening.
Same issue with my truck... Cold and wet and sensors go off all the time...
