Yesterday I installed the lower grille insert.
Today I did my first oil change - 2700 miles, had to get that factory oil out!

I’m liking that lower insert more and more each time I see it. I’m I’m really jealous of the lack of a front plate!

Having no front plate is a MUCH cleaner look! The insert completes the front end imo. I toyed with the idea of getting a Raptor grille but I’m going to table that as I’m happy with what I have.

Baseball is back so I thought I better get this on! After seeing this photo I took I see that I have the plate in a little crooked.

It's in the driver's left rear corner, I think it only came with the drop in bed liner.

Landscapers at my job hit my truck in the parking lot on Friday. Luckily, I detail for a living, although I wasn’t very confident this would come out 100%.

Graced by the detail and Ranger gods.. it miraculously did!

I’ll be doing a full paint correction and coating in April. Can’t wait for that extra gloss!

Over the last two weeks I have added the following: A key ring trim, a Gator SFX soft tri-fold cover, and black gloss Ranger lettering for the grille and tailgate.

Got a good deal on the Gator SFX and install wasn't very hard. Key ring trim I ordered on eBay from someone who 3D printed it. Lettering I got on Amazon for pretty cheap - I hope it holds it up well.

I had to wet sand this scratch out.

1500—> 2000—> 2500—> 3000—> 5000. You can usually get away with less grits but I didn’t want to cut any corners.

Followed up with machine polishing using Meguiar’s M100 Compound & Meguiar’s Microfiber Cutting Disc. Then polished out with Sonax Perfect Finish & Rupes Yellow Polishing Pad.

So you smoothed it out little by little, then compounded and polished it up. I wonder how much sanding you did? I would be worried about making a decent sized mark ultimately..guess not? Sand against the grain to smooth out the scratch and polish...

I did quite a bit of sanding and removed a decent amount of clear. If you catch the right light at an angle, you can see a very slight indentation from sanding. I could of leveled a bigger area to reduce that, but I really wanted to preserve as much clear as possible. It’s very unnoticeable and I’m pleased with the outcome, the scratch is gone 100%.

Keeping her out of the body shop is a win in my book
