If the truck is running it will auto lock when you walk away. It will also honk at you to confirm it's locked. You may get a few odd looks at the gas station but it's a nice feature.
Care to share a video of the doors auto locking as you say? I don't think this is a feature of the Lariat.

I wish there was a feature to unlock all the doors when the transmission is shifted into Park.

Try it. The truck must be left running and all doors must be shut. It will double honk as you walk away to confirm it's locked. I don't know if it's a feature that's exclusive to the Lariat, but my Lariat does it.

He’s right. But I believe it’s more to say the car is on but the keys are gone. Eventually the car will shut off. I constantly get this when I get out to throw my trash into the dumpster before work.

Are you sure the doors are actually locking? Or is it just the horn honking? The horn will honk to tell you that the key has left the vehicle while it is running.

That I'm not sure but have done this: Parked truck, shut off then pushed start button to turn on accessories. Got out and locked truck with door button and closed door. Truck does double honk twice so guessing for running accessories and locking door with them running.

I am just about to pull the trigger on a Lariat Supercab
Really excited.First new vehicle I ever ordered from the factory..

My question(s)...
Do the doors auto lock when you walk away from the truck with the key fob in your pocket or do I still have to manually lock my doors when I leave my truck?
How far away do you have to be?
You can either touch your hand on any of the four door handles or you have to press the fob; it works from pretty far away, several hundred feet, depending on angles, obstacles, etc. If you hit it twice it will both lock and beep the horn to let you know that it is locked. The Lariat has a lot of great features like these, not to mention the killer stereo! Buy with confidence and enjoy!

You can also use the FordPass app to lock/unlock your truck from any distance. There's been a few times where we go into a restaurant and I second guessed myself if I locked the truck or not so the app is great for that too. It will also confirm with a green check mark.
True, but I find the fob has better range and is more reliable than the app....

Better range? You can use the app from anywhere in the world and your truck will start where the fob has a limited distance. I agree the fob is faster if you're somewhat close by in response time but no way you're getting better range with the fob unless you have some special one you're not telling us about. lol

Funny, I have had numerous times when the app did not work for me but the fob did. The issue must be connectivity rather than distance. Thanks for pointing this out....

The app can be "glitchy" at times and you're also going to get more lag time if you're using cellular rather than wifi. I do't use the app all that often but the times I have it's worked flawlessly but it does take longer to connect and start the truck from the app. When I'm leaving in the mornings and hit the fob from my kitchen it starts immediately after I hit the 2x button the second time.:)

If you unlock the doors by touching them, the tailgate will also unlock.
Wish there was a proximity sensor in the tailgate handle as well...

That's good but it would be nice if the tailgate had a touch sensor. Walking clear up to a door is too much exercise because I have ODS. Old dude syndrome.

I find it very convenient to just touch the depression in the door handle to lock it after I get out. I rarely remove the fob from my pocket except to use it to remote start it when it is cold out.

I like the divett but wish there was one on the tail gate. Often the last thing I close is the tail gate and locking it from there would be so handy.
