I’m sure most of us all got our trucks relatively new or from a dealer to which you normally get 2 sets of keyless remotes.
Now I know not all of us have the same features (remote start) but do you guys prefer changing out the remotes and using one for (example .. ) 6 months and then the other for 6 months? Does it matter if you don’t ever use the other one, and just constantly use ONE remote?
So I’ve had my truck over a year now, have remote start (and use it occasionally) and have never used but one remote this whole time. Never had a battery issue or remote start issue or the lovely (?)”key flip out thing” issue .. it’s been perfect.
But it got me wondering … does the backup I have at the house go dead from not using it? Battery issues? Or is it fine just leaving it in a drawer in case I may need down the road?
Have any of you had issues at all (i.e. - battery, remote start, or anything else) by using only one remote or … ? What’s your take on this?
Also.. any tricks these remotes can do now a days? Like double click for windows up or down when walking up to vehicle? The remote start is super nice when hot out .. but curious what you all think.
