XLT Steering Wheel Material

Loving the Ranger but one thing driving me nuts in the xlt is the Urethane steering wheel material (and maybe the climate controls haha), it feels super cheap and is very slippery. I came from a Focus ST which felt 10 times better. Can you rewrap a steering wheel in leather?and or any steering wheel cover recommendations?

This is something that the more I drive it, the more I notice it.

I can tell my shifter is covered in better matieral then the E-Brake plastic thats cracking. But I tend to agree that the look and feel of both the steering wheel and shifter cover is not fine Corinthian leather!

The base XLT (300A pkg) has a urethane covered steering wheel and shifter, bur you will rarely ever run across one on a new car lot. Fleet and XLs have the urethane ones only.

I got the 301A package and it comes with a leather wrapped steering wheel. Like the feel of it and looks sharp too

Mine has the leather but it is not near as nice as the leather steering wheels on my other vehicles.

The more I drive it the more it feels like artificial leather to me.

Same with my STX. We just left Ollie's, and they had a Hello Kitty steering wheel cover on sale. But, my mean old wife wouldn't let me get it........

Now, with that old of the way, I gotten used to the one in mine.

I have the XLT 302A, it is definitely not leather...if it is, its garbage haha. Is in Canada but I'm pretty sure the Ranger would have North American specs not country specific...I'm not too worried.

most auto based upholstery shops can hook you up with a quality leather product, likely in any color you want.
some are kits you lace in yourself.

google them and find one local to you.

I have a 20 XLT and mine is Leather wrapped with contrast stitching. I like the steering wheel a lot.
