Sorry in advance if there is a thread for this but I wanted to upgrade my stock xlt wheel to a leather wrapped lariat wheel. I found one at a junk yard from a truck with 3k miles on it. It’s cheap too!! Only a few slight scratches to the leather. Are all OEM wheels compatible with each other? In other words will a wheel off of a 19 fit my 22? Personally i don’t see why it wouldn’t but I saw a YouTube video of a guy taking off an airbag and the clips that go into the airbag are different than the ones on the wheel I want. I tried asking my dealer and they were of no help.

thanks in advance

Not sure but will probably work. Have to make sure the air bag plugs are the same and the clock spring.

Your 2022 probably has airbag deleted for cost cutting so a 2019 wheel is a winner...

He's kidding of course. What I'd want is a 6G wheel with heating in my 5G. How to hook that up and make it work would be a challenge.

That would be a challenge...being an all new platform, they probably redesigned most everything...though I could be wrong...

Adavtive cruise control could be a issue. I believe the 2019 Lariat had this option your XLT may not have. You would know.

98% sure the naked wheel is the same. The plastic "trim & controls" you will want to swap as the connections for the AMIP, etc. won't have the corresponding connections through the clock-spring.
I have a 2019 Lariat and the "leather wrapped" wheel had a terrible feel to it. Got a second wheel, sent it off to have it properly leather wrapped... a world of difference... notice it every time I drive the truck.

I like that steering wheel. Can they do that to a plastic steering wheel? Who did the work?

Yes they can.... they stripped the Lariat wheel I sent them of the fake leather and recovered.
