Don’t want to steal the tread but do the 2022 lariats scab’s have the unpainted tailgate handles without keys?

Yes the 2022 Lariat super cabs do not have a tailgate key hole and are not painted.

Is the truck new? That rear handle doesn't look new, it looks like complete shite.

It's the urethane XL handle, same stuff as the non leather wrapped steering wheel.

The 2019 and 2020 Lariats had paint matched tailgate handles. 2021’s were not painted anymore, but still had key holes. Looks like 2022’s they have eliminated the key hole but they were not really ever used anyway with power lock/unlock feature. I have an XLT and have never used the tailgate key to unlock. Always used the power button. No key hole looks cleaner IMO.

I used the key just to see , it feels breaky with the switch blade fob so I backed off...

If I was still Ranger Vehicle Engineering, I would hop on this bandwagon to ensure I got my bonus... purchaser be damned...I wanted the $$$ in my paycheck...

I used my key once in the tailgate...just to try it... Never again so afar needed...
