Hi everyone,

I’m getting ready in the next day or two to start running the power, etc. for my subwoofer, and I’m trying to splice into the left rear speaker wiring for amp input - according to the pdf crutchfield sent it’s supposed to be gray/violet and brown/white or brown/green..unfortunately I’m pretty colorblind and need some help pointing out which pair in the photo is the right pair to splice into or if they can’t be seen in the below picture if someone could help me out.

One way to make sure you have the right wires, take out your left rear speaker and follow the wires from there. Or run the input wires from the speaker.

Thanks - I thought about doing just that after I posted.

I had my wife and neighbor both look to see if they could find the wires - neither one could, but I thought about it and went out just now and disconnected the plug inside of the pillar and using a section of speaker wire and a speaker, touched the pins one by one until I found them - and sure enough, they were grey/violet and brown green, so I spliced into them near the plug and ran a few feet of speaker wire out, then put the plug and panels back in - next time I get spare time will be running the power wire through the firewall and back to under the back seat for the amp.

Of the box and amp install please. ?
Sorry, I got busy and just was able to take a few photos - The upper black plug in the pillar on driver side between the doors contained the two speaker wires that I spliced into as pointed out by the arrows after disconnecting the plug and pulling the tape back - I dynamatted the outside of the box I bought from Australia along with the inside of where the box goes, and grabbed a piece of plexiglass from the "oops" bin for $1.50 from the local hardware store, cut it down and mounted the amp to it, then mounted that behind the backseat on the driver's side.

I ran the power cable through the passenger side wire grommet after poking a hole through. Could not reach the grommet on the driver side at all due to the master cylinder, etc. blocking me. I still have to install the new door speakers and tweeters sometime soon, and tidy up the wiring to the amp.

Clean install! Does the sub play low in that small box? I'm considering building my own box, or boxes. Just coming from an escape with a 12", I know it won't come close.

It’s low enough for me, but I’m sure there’ll be others that say it isn’t enough - for me I’m satisfied, and I actually turned down the gain on the amp a bit - I did add I think 5 oz of poly fill I got the same time from Crutchfield this morning, and it did seem to help a little bit.
