HI! I just ordered a 22' supercab fx4 bla bla bla. REALLY excited. Any way I bought it to have a nice daily that gets decent millage and can also tow a car once or twice month. I figured there were probably others who did the same, so I thought I would show off my drift car build and hopefully encourage others to post their non street legal rides as well. I am a machinist/ TIG welder, OTJ trained engineer type of person.

My mother (74yrd old) has an immaculate white 1990 Nissan 240SX with 28,000 original miles on it sitting in her garage. My parents bought it new in 1990. It gets driven 2-3 times a year if it’s lucky!

@yamahaSHO Did you do that heatshield for the manifold yourself? Would love to know more about it. Really nice looking build man!

My current engine setup is not complete yet, I bought an ECU masters EMU Black and decided to build my engine harness myself . Then i told myself i will tune it as well...

That's one of the big selling points of this truck for me. The possibility for throwing a big turbo on it in 10 years and going standalone. What a fun/relatively simple platform to go wild with in the future. I guarantee all of you there will be 500whp Rangers, and sooner than later.

Thank you. Advanced Thermal Products did the inconel heat shielding. I've had them do a few different things for me over the years.

I've not used ECU Master for an ECU, but I've heard they are decent. We are actually in the middle of putting together a PnP Haltech ECU option for the old Taurus SHO's right now. I love making better tuning options for vehicles that have previously lacked the support.

My S2000 has been on an AEM v2 for like 7 years or so, but I have a Haltech Elite 1500 that will be going into it. It helps that I am a Haltech dealer and I like some of the additional features it has over the AEM v2... And I have no desire to use an AEM Infinity... I've tuned enough of them to know its unfinished software.

I can't say I won't ever do a bigger turbo on the Ranger, but I don't see myself making a build out of it. I definitely look forward to getting it on the dyno and tuning it, as well as sorting a good tow tune on it.

Once I get a car trailer that is the one of the goals, go to races further from home and not stress having to find a tow back if something goes wrong. Currently I limit my racing radius to about 2 hours from home since I drive to and from in the car I'm racing.

This thread is getting fun.

@yamahaSHO what system/software were you thinking of using to modify the tune on your ranger? I know HP tuners supports the ranger but that whole system with buying credits for each vehicle you tune is weird.
