Hi Billy,Right now, nothing! Just the Ranger Raptor in my garage.
From time to time I get around in this thing though, a Tecnam P92 Echo Super.
I will never fly again in a light aircraft... Almost died... A fellow I knew at Ford had a Grumman Tiger.... This craft has a castering nose wheel which was not castering and this fellow asked me, being able to fix most things to help him repair the caster nose wheel... So not being part of being a certified Aircraft mechanic we headed to the plane with his "Instruction manual" in place... Pretty straight forward repair....remove a cotter pin, castellated nut and pull down on the wheel assembly....bearing was completely gunked up with dried lube....I cleaned it up with brake cleaner and some elbow grease. Then relubed with the spec grease... Reinstalled with the nut and using a fish scale we got the tension on the nut within spec...Installed a new cotter pin.
Fellow said "lets take the plane out for a spin" to see if it was fixed, So climb in and we took off from Metro Detroit Airport, DTW, (not allowed anymore)... He flew over to the Detroit River and over the city and then we headed back to Metro...Then the words through the mic..."Oh Shit". Not something I wanted to hear... He said I forget to squawk and flipped a switch. Air Traffic immediately contacted him and warned him of an Antenna in the area and then there it loomed in our windscreen....Huge antenna. He banked left and we missed a guy-wire and the main antenna structure. He looked at me and said "whew"! I told him to land immediately as I wanted out of this plane and vowed to never fly in light aircraft again... I now know Pilot Error....Sheesh!
Best,
Phil
