Our roads? This picture of our busiest freeway says it all. I wish it was a better image but we still only have B&W photography up here. You, know, to go with our gnarly roads, igloos, mounted police, fur trappers, and such.

Well Duke, at least your "spoke wheels" don't give you splinters anymore lol.

It sounds like you would be good with bilstein kit with maybe a 2" lift set. You can also do an add a leaf if needed.

You sound like me, as far as use-case.

My Old Man Emu leaf springs have been my favorite suspension alteration, primarily for the softer spring rate. Now that Icon is out with their leaf pack, I'd likely have gone that route, as I did not need the 40mm OME rear lift.

You looking for leaf spring rates? The figures get more dubious as you go down the list...

  • Stock: 43.8 N/mm Main, 70.2 N/mm overload (per Ford BBAS)
  • OME: 26.3 N/mm Main, 90.3 N/mm overload (per OME)
  • Icon: 28.5 N/mm @ ride height? (progressive pack, so it goes up as you get deeper in travel... they claim 35% rate reduction from stock and do not state the actual rate, so 65% x 43.8 N/mm=28.5????)
  • APG: I'd wager about 35.1 N/mm @ ride height and progressive, but that's from some sketchy intel and probably wrong
Thanks for this useful information.
