Put in this thing. It's not the one that goes "pshh" and should give me more HP.

So with all the stuff you guys made me put on, Soupie's probably close to a thousand horsepower by now! =D

But, of course. with all the stuff you made me add, Soupie's now a thousand pounds heavier. =(

Net HP gain = -50 ....

left the base in place

busted off the crunchy bit

used pneumatic tool oil on other piston

flipped it back on, used screws that came with it, which have identical threading to OEM screws

took it for a test drive and still runs - babe magnet even more powerful now! =p

When I did an incredibly short test drive (1/2 a mile) I didn't really notice anything (except for the pointing and giggling from sidewalk babes).

Kate took Soupie to the grocery store and she said she noticed a big difference - no hesitation on take off (she said it sounded like it revved less and just went) and less gear searching.

I'll report back once I've taken it on the highway ....

That weight holds the nose down and, in combination with the bed rake, makes Soupie an aerodynamic wedge! =D

Took it to dealership for the works & transmission check. Tech said they warmed it up & checked, fluid looked good and at proper levels. Had a couple of hard shifts but those could mainly be explained away, ie.. letting off gas at top of steep hill where trans didn't know if it needed to shift up or down, so far only once when I came to a stop. Watching it closely

I changed the oil for the first time (pre-owned) and rotated the tires. What a stupid design, with the skid plate in the way of the drain, and the filter behind that dumb flap. I did the magnet thing. We will see how they hold up. I'm not big on drain valves but I may succumb for the next time. I replaced the OEM lug nuts (one had started to fail) with the black Amazon specials. I also replaced the air filter and cabin filter. I was going to put screen in the cowl but ran out of time.

I got tired of having to clean the seat between the dog riding in the front and the wife riding in the front, most of the time it's not so bad, but if the sprinklers are running at the park the dog messes up everything, I have the dog liner for the back seat, nothing for the front.

So I took a 1/4" sheet of plastic and made a padded platform for the dog, it slides under the seat back to hold it in place, then it rests on the console and the glove box door, with a pad to keep her from sliding forward and a outer rigid pad to keep her legs from going down the side of the seat.

She loves it, it's like a dog bed and she stays put, before her front legs would fall off the seat.

First of all beautiful doggy.
Second that thing is awesome, if you could get it to fold up so it stores under the passenger seat when not in use… that would be a solid product for folks with fuzzy family members who ride shotgun ?.

That's pretty neat. Like Bryan said, it'd be great if it folded up to slide under the seat when not in use.

What about the back of the seat? Are you doing anything to cover that? I used to have a yellow lab, and the car seats were originally cloth, but in reality fur-lined.

How's the glove box hatch handling her weight? I can see her sitting all the way up in the first photo, but is that going to survive long-term, or are you risking damage to the hatch?

Changed out the crummy synthetic blend 5w30 they dumped in my engine when they swapped my trans for full synthetic Ultra Platinum Pennzoil.

I feel better now. Felt a little wasteful till I dumped it. For oil with all of 200mi on it, was kinda cruddy and dark. Maybe the swap broke some crud loose in there I dunno.

It's almost like there was used oil in it ?

That Valvomax thing is great, didn't have to remove the skid plate, no mess, easy work ?
