Try removing plugs from a 2005 F150 5.4 liter 3 valve engine stock. On the ranger you may might break the porcelain but you won’t leave the piece in hole requiring a special removal tool. Been there done that. A 2 day job I didn’t enjoy..
New plugs are all one piece welded instead of crimped. Google it and feel lucky. Also use a plug socket with a rubber insert. I usually remove the rubber insert and cut it short so will release the socket after installing new plugs.
Did 3 times on my 05 and didn't break a single one. But I've never been so stressed out doing a plug change. Did the TSB and just cracked them an 1/8th turn and let them soak with Seafoam deep creep. I think it took me over 2 hours just to do a plug change on that motor.

All ready pulled the plugs on this one to put some anti seize on the threads so I don't have to worry about the rusting issue some are having with these engines.

I have to say it was nice just to pull a plug out like normal again

Yeah, the 5.4 is NOT FUN...loved my 2002 lightning, but with the blower and the way the plugs slanted, me did not likey. BUT I still miss that truck. Was fun toasting vettes.
