I let it warm up at least 3-4min in the morning. I hit the remote start leaving work walking to the truck and let it warm up a couple minutes. In the summer it’s around 80 most mornings and pushing mid 90’s during the day so it doesn’t take long. I let everything warm up before I use it lol. Boat engines, vehicles, lawn equipment it doesn’t matter? it’s just one of those things I’ve always done.

I usually warm up but if I don't, I just stay light on the throttle till it warms up.

Hello. I have 2019 ranger. Is it really necessary to warm up engine until rpm goes to 1? Most of the time if i start the engine then shift to R without waiting for rpm go to 1, then there will be a loud shake. I feel like it breaks transmission?
I do but mostly to preserve the transmission. On my old Sport Trac the trans had to be rebuilt due to a cracked reverse band, probably from me banging it into reverse right after starting it, although the trans shop said it was toasted inside and on borrowed time anyway. The 5R55E isn't real strong either.
When I leave for work in the morning I remote start it from the kitchen so it's run for maybe a minute by the time I get to the garage with my coffee.

Pro Tip: To reduce the idle speed quicker after starting it, shift to Neutral first before putting it in gear. If that doesn't work (sometimes), shift to Neutral, then to Park, and back to Neutral. Then shift to Reverse or Drive when the idle speed drops.
