I swapped mine out for a Black Ford one. I just used some of those body panel tools to pry it off. There are some one time use nuts you’ll need if the emblem you get isn’t an adhesive only. Mine was an adhesive and the little anchors.

Thanks for posting this, very interesting.

So did you remove the entire emblem, including the chrome oval ring around the outside, or just the center piece that has Ford on it?

Just the center. The outer oval ring is part of the grill. I’ll take some photos

Also the rear is the same deal but without the nuts. It just kinda snaps into the holder. Front was more of a pain. Felt like I was going to break the stock one

So it must have busted holes through the plastic... in order for it to come off with the nuts still intact?

The nuts came off the back. They didn’t come through the holes with the studs. They dropped behind the grill after I popped them off. I just put the nuts on there after I took it off

So how hard is it to get to those two little nuts? If you take the grill to radiator cover off is that enough to get to them?

Open Hood.

Remove first shroud.

Remove second shroud. (one below hood locker).

Painted mine satin black.

Take the first radiator cover off. There are two bolts on top of the grill to remove
I was able to pull the top and one side of the grill out far enough to get those tin foil nuts on the back of the emblem
Only broke two tabs clean off the rad cover in the process. Hats off the the icantfixanythingright threads out there.

Wondering if anyone has found an overlay? Not the vinyl sticker but a gel type overlay that would be sturdier.
