Here is my story of ordering a new 2024 Ford Ranger Raptor:

Ordered 5 -26 - 2023
Recieved VIN 6 - 28 - 2024
June 13, 2024 Build Week 8 - 26 - 2024
July 25, 2024 Build Week 8 - 28 - 2024
August 15, 2024 Build Week 9 - 30 - 2024
August 29, 2024 Build Week 10 - 03 - 2024
September 26, 2024 Buil Week 11 - 25 - 2024

I have had 5 different calls with Fords customer service, I use the term laxly, got a case number, what good that did , I don't know. My dealer called and got the run arround, something about the global supply chain. The best one was the hurricane, the hurricane hit North Carolina on September 28th not close to Michigan, not near the 1st build week of 8 -26 - 2024. Anyone taking bets I get the truck before Christmas, I won't hold my breath. I asked my dealer if I should change my order to a 2025. At least Ford should throw in a spay in bed liner. I now drive a 2019 Ranger with 64,400 on it bought an extra extended warranty, hope I don't run out of time on it.

I would think a year after ordering would be long enough that is crazy.

It took my 24 one year, pissed me off but the dealer went with the Carvana trade in on my 22 … which was $400.00 more than the dealer offer …

Is this sort of thing STILL going on with Rangers ?? My story... it's the middle of the "chip" shortage in January of 2021. and my old Sonoma truck was wrecked. I have other cars to drive but still needed a pickup for "truck things". Didn't care for the "Star Wars" styling of the GM products, and won't even consider a Toyota Tacoma. I settled on the Ranger, but had to drive to Houston to even test drive one. Really liked it....it fit me perfectly, decided I wanted one... but they only had 2 in stock...both Lariat packages and both well north of 40K in price. Decided I would go back to my local dealer and order exactly what I wanted. This was last week of January, and dealer accepted my order,, but told me ....."it might be awhile before it comes in" I asked for some estimate....he said probably end of April. Started checking with dealer around middle of April and was told it hadn't even been built yet. In the middle of May he told me it had been "scheduled for production"...whatever that meant. By the beginning of June he told me it was built...and was sitting at a rail shipment lot away from the plant awaiting transit with no idea when it would be shipped. By this time I was getting pretty desperate so I said I would go up there to pick it up, but was told I couldn't .... because it was still at the rail yard because it DIDN'T RUN!!! They claimed it was missing a "chip" to run and they didn't know when they would get one for it. I was finally fed up by this time and started doing internet searches of dealer inventory. I finally found a dealer in Kansas City [about 450 miles away] that had one that had all my "must have" equipment plus other options...so I packed up the dog and drove up there. I test drove it...loved it... and bought it on the spot. As for the one I ordered....for all I know it's STILL sitting up at that rail yard !!
