We are talking about 2 mile round trip to haul in a a cubic yard (little more than 1 ton) of crusher run from a local quarry to my house. This will be done about 5 times.

I know the question seems silly and the resolution is easy enough, but I'm just curious if you think the motor would be in any danger on a 93 performance tune for such a small stint. Entertain my silly question for just a moment.

No big hills and stay off the gas pedal for hard acceleration. I would with no worries.

Only one (what I would consider) large dip in the route. Good news is both directions I get a good grade downward first. The taller side would be uphill on an empty trailer each time.

1 ton total? or 5 trips of 1 ton load each time? I would call the tuner honestly. They know the timing curves better than we do but I would think if you are light on the throttle you should be ok.

Just towed 5000 miles on 93 tune you'll be fine, was fine in 120* Seattle and British Columbia mountains.

Jack, just to be safe I would take this advise and call the tuner. More than likely you're going to be ok doing this but I'd hate to see another thread down the road like the "I Think I Threw A Rod" one we saw earlier this year. Just because some have done this doesn't mean it's a good idea and there's a reason they have a tow tune. Personally I wouldn't take the chance unless it were only 1 trip not 5.

2 Miles? If these engines, tuned, cannot handle a 2 mile trip with weight.....we have some major issues!

1 ton per trip x5
I figured but wanted to be sure. I would give the tuner a call and ask them about it. Last thing you want to do is have detonation on a turbo motor especially. 5 trips with 1 ton load, assuming that does not include the trailer either. That could very well put you close to a 3000lb load plus your pay load.

We can't really compare others previous experiences to what you may face either. So many factors besides ambient temp ya know? Humidity, altitude, fuel quality, throttle input, etc.
