Ok so I need to tap into a few various things using the trigger line from relays, so all items will have their own power source.

1. Best place to tap for hi-beam activation; aka power on when hi-beams activated. Is the best tapping source simply at the bulb harness?

2. Best place to tap courtesy lighting; aka power on when doors are opened or unlock button pressed on keyfob. This one I have not looked into yet and am not sure the easiest place/wire to tap into would be located besides all the way up where the factory ceiling lights are and obviously it is fed up there from somewhere else.

3. Similar, but for cargo lights; the obvious answer is just to pop the third brake light off and use that location, however I don't want to open air jump from rack ceiling to TBL, or and unnecessarily long line that has to snake from rack ceiling, down to bed, through rear wall, and back up the interior wall. That wire has to be fed from a lower point in the cabin somewhere before its ran to the headliner. Again, not sure where.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

I can't help with any of this, but I'm glad you asked as I'll be looking for some of this soon.

I will add a request for reverse lights. I'm pretty sure you might know a decent spot for that outside of the cab, what about inside?

I'm not sure there is an internal line for the reverse lights. I tapped mine at the bumper.

When I get around to it I'm gonna need one for some additional back up lights. I'll also need one for brights. Haven't decided on switching yet but I'm thinking I'd like to keep everything in the cab.

There was a thread, I think it was about somebody adding a strobing CHMSL. Anyways this guy tapped his CHMSL at the BCM. I took note of it thinking I might use it in the future for a TBC install.

If that thread has, or we can find, the BCM pinout I'd bet a lot of the triggers could be tapped there.

Found the thread. No pinout. Just points out the pin for CHMSL.

But maybe the OP has the whole pinout or knows where to find it.

Yes I would like a reverse trigger in the cab for a backup camera as well.

I believe most aftermarket systems use the reverse light as the trigger for the reverse camera.
Yes in previous vehicles I was able to find a wire in the cab to use as the trigger, without having to run from back near the lights.

I've got a bunch of manuals I downloaded from here a long time ago. I'll see if I can find a BCM pinout.

So I found this document.

It appears the BCM might provide some of the triggers requested so far. Just need to find a pinout.

Near the bottom of the document

Brake (red) warning indicator request

Headlamp high low status

Reverse light on

All seem to be BCM outputs.

Can't find courtesy lights as an output, Jack. But an open door turns on the courtesy lights, no? There's plenty of those on there.

I need to go to bed. I'll see if I can find a pinout tomorrow.

Can't locate a pinout.

But this document says you should be able to tap for courtesy lights at the BCM. Just need to locate the "interior lighting output."

@Tom_C Wondering if you have a BCM pinout that you used to find that CHMSL line?

No, all I have is posted in my CHMSL thread(s). @micl9 provided the diagram I used and posted.

Ok, well I can tell you , the not-gray wire is the positive in our 9005 connector.

Now I know normally I run all my relays/fuses in the cabin, but for the new hi-beam activated spot lights I went ahead and set one up in the engine bay. I am just going to run the pig-tailed harness from the front rack panel down the front windshield at the a-pillar and call it a day instead of snaking it back the rack and dropping down through the rear wall to the cabin.

Tested with a spare light, works perfect. I will probably run a secondary manual switch for them behind a diode blocker in future, but for now I am keeping it simple.
