Is there any reason to bother with PLA if I plan to print everything in PLA+? It seems a no-brainer to use the better PLA+ unless PLA is better for training/practice. ESun seems to be the go to brand.

I don't think you will see any difference while printing either, but PLA+ will be the better choice for longevity and strength of parts. If you are just learning about 3D printing, just start with the material you will use most. ESUN is good stuff.

$350 for the K1 is a steel, since normal price is $500.
$350 for a K1 is a bargain, even if converted to Aussie dollars, K1's normally sit around $800 from a storefront over here, a bit less on line.

I started originally printing just PLA but when PLA+ became more readily available, I switched and have never looked back. It's better in almost every way with the possible exception that it really is stronger and tougher, and removing support material can sometimes be a bit of a trial! Yes E-SUN is a good brand.

This I like, I wonder if it would fit my diesel?
Re the Ecoboost funnel does it fit my diesel model?
It does, I printed just the threaded bit to check first. Looks like Ford use the same oil filler cap on many, many different models. Currently now printing the whole funnel. Will use up some of my crappy old brittle PLA that I wont risk running through my bowden tube printer.

Printing my ignition bezel with nylon carbon (PA-CF).

Printed, not the best first layer, I'm still working on that with this filament, but the CF pattern of the plate did transfer in some.

Is that an Ender 3? Are you using a hardened steel or stainless nozzle? Carbon fiber filament is murder on brass nozzles.

It started as an Ender 3 Pro.... has BTT SKR Mini E3 V3.0 MCU w/klipper FW, RPi 400 CPU running Mainsail/crowsnest/etc, Sprite Extruder Pro with 0.6mm Hardened Steel and the BLTouch.

I will say that Klipper was the best update I've done to this system, using the Wifi in the RPi 400 to connect load files, print and monitor has been so much nicer than running a USB to the printer as I did when I had the old MCU (BTT SKR Mini E3 V2.0) and the BTT TFT35-E3 V3.0 display. Which at the time was a big updated over stock MCU (Creality3D V1.1.4)/display

Nice. I recently bought a Creality 5 S1, it's actually quite quick even in stock form, I intend to Klipper it when I get some spare time. Should be even better then. I also have an old Wanhao i3 Touch and an Aquila X2 ( Ender 3 S2 clone) currently running on Octoprint.

I recently bought a cheap 3d scanner to go with my 3d printers. It works pretty good for what it is. Need a new phone for portable use.

Yes I considered one of these. Working good for you?

For $199 it works pretty good. Stinks on very dark surfaces and have to buy some scanner spray to try. Had to add a light from the bottom to get into crevices but can get fairly accurate models. Still trying to find a free converter to go from stl to step output for easy import into Alibre. The scan is mesh but output file a solid using Creality scan software it comes with. It's a fun toy at this point. Trying to get my granddaughter winter break to see if she can stand still long enough to get a good scan of her. They sell higher end models that are faster and better but I'm going to play with this until the AI software in future models is developed fully to merge scan data and high res photos into a perfect output quickly.
