Don’t you guys think you are slightly overreacting to an aftermarket air filter. Knock on wood but I’ve never had an issue with “bigger” partials entering. Have a 03 explorer with a k&n intake. Clocked 200k with no issues. I have pretty much had aftermarket filters on all my cars. And I keep them for awhile. Just saying....
As I have said before, I have seen it myself in Arizona where multiple trucks needed new engines due to a K&N letting ALOT of dirt and dust past it and wiping out cylinders. Before then I thought they were great. I was also informed a while ago that the K&N filters do NOT have good filtration on the small particle's.

For folks ordering from online from Levitown or other, what's the deal with the warranty? I see mention on Ford Performance this must be installed by ASE certified shop or Ford dealer for warranty to apply.

Are you install yourself, taking it to a Ford Dealer or other shop? I assume Ford Dealer is going to charge to install. I dislike my Ford Dealer a lot, need to find a new one, but that sounds like a hassle.
I ordered from Levittown to get the best price, but I plan to have my local Delaware Ford dealer do the installation. My local Ford dealer is terrific, but if you happened on a dealer that is irresponsible or dishonest, it should not be that difficult to find another one that does an honest job. As far as the warranty goes, any certified shop could do the work....

Hey, Michael, just to follow up, there actually is a website that ranks dealers, Ford and others, based on grades and comments from customers: https://www.dealerrater.com/. I have no relationship with this site, and I don't know how accurate it is generally, but when I had a look at the ratings and comments for my local dealer, they rang true to my own experience from 2014-2020. So, if you don't like your current Ford dealer, you don't have to keep going back....

No mention of auto stop start. I'm guessing the Ford Performance tune keeps it as stock?

That would be a downside, although so far the night light trick is working great for mine.

Yeah I am pretty sure that is part of the EPA certification. As much as we hate the auto start stop there is a reason for it. Years ago I saw it on a Autolite poster for getting best possible MPG. It said that "excessive idling hurts Fuel Mileage and should be avoided as much as possible and that 10 seconds of idling is equivalent to 1 start up". So in theory if you are in the city and you have so much bad luck you hit every red light and keep waiting forever at each light with the auto start stop on. You should get better MPG's. But to cancel that out all we have to do is hit a button if we remember to do so.

I am assuming if the dealer does not install it, the install should still be very straightforward? I know the dealer nearby would charge an arm and a leg to install it, plus i dont like anyone touching my car unless they have to.

For the most part yes you are correct. As the saying goes, if you're having trouble doing something read the instructions. If that doesn't help follow them. When it comes to reprogramming PCM and ECM stuff it really is straightforward. Tuners make it pretty easy to. The biggest thing they want is you to have a charger hooked up to the battery just in case you might have a weak battery or if you're a dummy and have all the accessories on when you shouldn't.

I wonder if my 1.5amp trickle charge would do the trick.
Unfortunately a trickle charger wont do the trick when you have the ignition on. I have a charger in my tool box that does up to 12 amps and sometimes that isnt enough if I dont let the battery charge for a while.

Jeeze. How long does the process take?

i want this. The truck already breaks loose on pavement without trying too hard. More power can’t hurt right?

If it's "CARB compliant"....I don't want it. Probably a really watered down tune

You make a good point but it could be a really well though out moderate tune. With a warranty.
