Truck Stats:
2019 FX4
Suspension - Eibach Pro Truck Lift set to 3.75" up front (sitting at 3.5" with bumper weight)
Wheels & Tires - Stock
Engine - Safari Snorkel on stock intake
I was pulling up out of a steep-ish driveway on Monday, making a right hand turn, and it sounded like my suspension (possibly driver side) made a noise. Kind of like a grinding noise. But not quite a grinding noise. It was a pretty quick noise, and nothing changed about the driving characteristics. The truck was in 2wd.
My concern - CV bearings. When installing the leveling kit, my shafts (both driver and passenger sides) popped out of the front differential, but we got them back in and everything seemed to work well.
Why it's possibly not the bearings on the CV joints - The truck has seen roughly two to three thousand miles since the installation of the leveling kit; mostly highway and around town driving with a "spirited" mountain run (all asphalt) and one serious off road trip with some suspension articulation going on (many, many months ago). I haven't had any issues in the previous months with all of the driving I've done.
It's definitely not tires rubbing on crash bars as I'm running the stock tires with my leveling kit.
Hopefully it was just a suspension groaning noise. But what should I be looking out for? Any thoughts or similar experiences to report?
Thank you!!!
