U Bolt Flip?

Hi all! Just wanted to follow-up. The following combination works great!

GM/Toyota 2.5'' plate:

3 1/4'' x 5/8'' x 8'' u-bolt:

Here's a shot of the install before I cut down the u-bolts (with AAL):

Okay,

And what did this accomplish? No dragging U bolts below the rear axle/brake caliper? I am confused by this accomplishes.

I do not get this "mod" Not being particularly into Off Road except for Racing I have no clue why this would be important at all.

The main reasons are clearance and strength.

Not having the plate under the axle, allows better clearance and 5 /8" u bolt and 3/8" plate steel is immensely stronger than factory. And I'm a fan of overkill.
