First time doing any wiring work
Can someone chime in to let me know i won’t burn down my truck
What i did:
-trigger 4 shooter mounted via Velcro on battery, ran the yellow power through the grommet hood release, and did a micro-2 fuse tap into #37
Magnet mounted the switches in the sunglasses compartment so they are tucked away and flip down when needed , which is my favorite part (holds up well so far)
Everything works great!
My biggest Q is i see 3-4 different locations on both positive and negative terminals i could have run my cables ,
Did i pick the right spots?
Going for:
-a pillar pod lights , i am hoping i can run 2 sets of lights (4 total) off one switch or is that overload ?
- rear spots under the rear window mounted on bed
-CV (down the line)
- open time anything lol
Thank you in advance ! All feedback welcome if i screwed it up i will fix it

I've never seen a add a fuse rated for 20 amps, most are only 10 amps. the only concern i would have. most of them have a rating printed on the package

Awesome. I’m just going to copy what you did. So if the truck goes down I’ll direct the insurance company your way.

I don't understand why you guys are adding another fuse...you can see that there's already a 100 amp fuse built into the line...

I only ran it to the fuse box so it would turn on with marker lights without any splicing or cutting
The trigger should take care of the rest as stated above

According to web site only Trigger 6 has the in line fuse (as well as low voltage cut off).
OP Noel installed a trigger 4

Did you have any issues when disconnecting the battery for the install? I have heard that some modern cars with all the computers have issues if you try to disconnect the battery without some kind of computer calibration tool.

Hi Christian,

Here is what the 2019 Owner's manual indicates:

Note:
require re-initialized. See Windows and Mirrors (page 77).

To ensure proper operation of the Battery Management System, any electrical devices that are added to your vehicle should not have their ground connection made directly at the negative battery post. A connection at the negative battery terminal can cause inaccurate measurements of the battery condition and potential incorrect system operation. When a battery replacement is required, you must use a recommended replacement battery that matches the electrical requirements of the vehicle.

After battery replacement, or in some cases after charging the battery with the external charger, the Battery Management System requires eight hours of vehicle sleep time (key off with doors closed) to relearn the new battery state of charge. Prior to relearning the state of charge, the
Battery Management System may disable electrical features (to protect the battery) earlier than normal.

Is this maybe to which you were referring?

Best,
Phil Schilke

Why did you have to run the cables to the fuse box in the cab? There are fuse boxes in the engine bay?
