Just a question for anyone who has had the Shift Motor (Off) and manually placed the transfer case into (Neutral)
Since there is (NO) real detailed information of what action is taking place when (Neutral Tow) is selected and looking at how the system (operational) is commanded via the relays for normal operation.
Nowhere is a description of where (Neutral Position) is actually at - if you were to (wrench) the shaft.
I know the last one I messed with (GM) I think it was a spring-loaded position between 4-Hi and 4-Low.
So basically, trying to understand (Relay) control from - Place in 2-HI -(Step) of the procedure, then select the IPC (Neutral Tow)
Where is the Shift Motor (Driving) and what is the physical position (Between 2-Hi & 4-Low) or is it a position outside of that (Like full CW or CCW)
So basically, the only way to know is to have actually (physically) moved the shaft to get it into neutral.
This is just a curiosity question as I am looking into the possible reasons on how or why some are having issues - Flat Towing and How or Why is the truck coming out of (Neutral Tow) on its own or owner not following procedures.
