I have 265/70R17 Falken Wildpeaks on my truck and they are cupping pretty badly as well. I rotate my tires every 10k-15k miles and they were wearing very evenly until about 30k miles. Got one or two alignments to try and fix the issue but it never went away unfortunately. My tires are just about due to get replaced and I got a good 50k miles out of them so I suppose it's not the end of the world, but it's definitely frustrating... will have to keep an eye on my next set of tires.

I have done my own oil changes. Like a dope, I did not rotate the tires (full size spare, wheel matched truck wheels, 295/70-17 Toyo Open Country Tires on 17x10 wheels, +55mm Offset) = cupping. I cannot blame the tires because I did not rotate the tires until 15,000miles on the tires. Aack. If there was a place that could buff the cups out that would be great (ya, I know reduced tread depth) As it is, I can drive under 65mph and no jiggle. I prefer running my tires 'till they are down to legal min tread depth. Not sure I will be able to tolerate the vibration induced speed limit Not my Daily Driver, so at least not a daily bother.
You might try and find a tire place that caters to people that race cars. Some racing organizations have spec classes (like SCCA Spec Racer Ford used to be like that) where they require street tires and the really competitive people buy new and have their tires shaved down to improve grip. Back in the day, the front runners would do new tires of each race.

Phoenix/Tucson has a very active racing community, I am certain there are tire dealers that have shaving machines and do it all the time for the race crowd.

Good luck.

Well, 6k miles later, I see cupping(starting) on the front, like the rear.
Time to rotate. I can still see a little on the rears, oh well.

I got 40K out of my OEM Bridgestone Duelers even with routine rotating with every oil change. At the end they were starting to cup a little bit.

I have to wonder if rotation plus rebalancing every maybe 10-15K miles might extend the life span. On the other hand 40K out of OEM tires isn't bad and the cupping at the end was only slight.

Hey!
Cupping. Out of balance causes this for the greater part. Maybe bad shocks. Alignment, wearing on the sides.
I’d bet balance is the problem.
Were the tire’s computer balanced?
Good luck!!!!!

Not doing tire rotations will do this as well

I didn't see pictures posted in the thread, but after reading through it, i wonder if we are talking about cupping or feathering?

https://brownsalignment.com/tires/tire-wear/

I get light feathering on the inside and outside edges of front tires over the course of 5k miles. I rotate and cross the fronts to the rear and bring the rears straight to the front. Most dealers just rotate front to back without the cross and the feathering get progressively worse over time.

According to the site, it's cupping.
I got an alignment.
Out of ballanced? All 4?
PSI is good, door says 38, tires are at 38.
I'll live with it.

Yep, all four tires should be balanced, and are from new. Each time you rotate, check for cupping, lost weights, warped wheel and air. A slipped belt will cause funky wear, too.
Good luck!!
