Well, there's worse things that one can do to their truck!
Well, here it is...a special tailgate damper coffin. Almost like left and right, red and green, Superman and Lois, Romeo and Juliet, @AzScorpion and alter of the damper :sunglasses:

Won't be good if it starts coming loose and breaking apart on the highway at 75MPH.

My totally subjective humble opinion is that it is non-functional and unattractive.

I think the other scoop floating around looks awesome, but since none do anything I can make fun of them.

It's not for me, but it also ain't my truck. If you like it, and want one it really doesn't matter what anyone else thinks. Make it your own, and enjoy.

For me... No. Way too much.

The first thing I think of is how it's installed.

I live in sunny, HOT AS HELL south Florida. I wouldn't trust the sticky tape to last in the heat. Wind pulling up on it at highway speeds. Water/humidity getting under it.

How will it last under that constant heat and direct sunlight? Warping, twisting and curling? Our heat and UVs can be pretty distructive. I'm sure the folks in brutally hot climates would have the same concerns.

It would be a hard pass for me. Looks like out of the Toyota workshops, like they need to try and prove something about how tough they think they are.
